Question about IBM ThinkPad T40 2373 Notebook
I was given a T40 for free by my old boss so I reinstalled windows xp pro to get it all clean, installed drivers and then when downloading about 11 files at one time (downloads fast on my gf's comp and that's older) it crashed then on restart it comes up with the unmountable boot volume.
After lots of playing around and failed windows reinstalls it finally allowed me to reinstall windows (before it just said there was an error and couldn't install) and i got it all back up and running again then just like last time all was fine untill i did a multiple download whereit dies again.
Is the HDD drive just screwed or could it be something else?
When downloading, run two, maybe, three downloads at a time. You're just trying to download more than the machine can handle. Unfortunately, when this happens you usually have to reload the system. You want to be careful, if you do this to many times, it can damage the hard drive.
