Question about Magic Chef 9512 Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

Magic chef 59F - 5TXW

Oven is 12+ years old but was working fine. Now when I push bake temp and set the degrees, I am finding myself having to do this several times before my oven will stay on. Is it time for a new oven or is there a part that can be replaced?

I have the same problem, but I am confused about the answer. Is there an "igniter" in an electric oven?

Model #59F-5TXW gives code F-3 after cleaning. Can't make it stop and return to normal operation. What to do?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F3 error means open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you want to do it yourself and wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter between 1080-1120ohms....if it reads more then or less then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around between 1080-1120ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I am looking for a manual for an electric oven,

The owners manual is here: http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/59F-5TXW.pdf

Fault codes:
F2 Oven too hot Check oven temperature sensor F3 F4 Open or shorted oven temperature sensor Replace

New Sensor is here:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=4009009

Low price too!

The F2 will appear because the sensor is not controlling the temp so the high limit thermostat is being tripped.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Magic Chef oven displays F3 everytime the bake or broil button is pushed. Not sure what the model # is. Electrical range.

this could be a an open probe or shorted probe connection.you need to check your temp probe harness to your main board.
there is a chance that you need to replace your temp probe.
last thing would be to replace the EOC

I have a magic chef range/oven. For the last few months, it has taken longer and longer for the oven to heat up to temp. Now it won't get more than 90 degrees or so. What is the problem??

Turn off the power to the range. Remove the bake element from inside the oven. Be careful not to let the wires go back into the oven cavity. Take a volt/ohm meter set for ohms or continuity and test the bake element leads. If you get no reading replace the element. If you do get a reading, replace the temperature sensor in the oven.

Magic chef oven/stove top range not staying hot

Hi, It very well could be the ignitor. Sometimes they work at first and then will not open the gas valve later in cycle. You can set the oven to heat and watch the ignitor. If it glows and the gas will not ignite in 30 to 45 seconds, the igniter is getting weak. I jope this helps.
Please let me know if I can assit you further.

MAJIC CHEF DOUBLE OVEN NOT WORKING

I just had a model 976-4CX put in...I have no manual...I'm trying to find one. I thought I had a problem with the element, dial or thermostat. The bottom worked, but the top stopped working. There are 2 timers with dials next to the clock labeled Start and Stop, and Push for Manual. Come to find out my problem was solved by adjusting the Start and Stop dials and/or pushing in for manual!?!
If I had a manual I'd know how these timers worked.
