Thats hard to say, most tv repair shops will want over a 100.00 just to come look at it. Then most of them wont do component level repairs they will insist that it needs a new Circuit board at around 400 to 600.00 would be the guess on a repair shops estimate.

Audio video ports bent and a cable port completely pulled out

You will need to contact a regular tv repair shop and if he is authorized for your brand, that is a plus. He may say the whole board would need replaced, which will be un feasible.....he may be able to re attatc and solder the jacks back to gether. Either way that is where you start!

My tv is less than 5 yrs old when I turn it on all

The hourglass distortion is usually due to bad solder connections in an area called the pincushion correction circuit, and repairing them usually takes care of that trouble. Whether this caused anything else to go bad and led to the other troubles your set has or they are unrelated is impossible to tell without finding what's failed.

If you had just the pincushion distortion, I'd say you might be able to try repairing the set yourself if you can use a soldering iron on electronic circuitry (or if you know someone who can). But with the other troubles, your only solution is to take the set to a service shop for an estimate by a technician. Troubleshooting often needs special tools and skills as well as the manufacturer's service information, and it's possible to make things worse by trying to do repairs without experience.

Given the low cost of smaller TV sets today, you might find it's more economical to replace this set rather than repairing it. I don't know what shops are charging to do estimates these days. The shop I worked for used to charge $20 (applied to the repair) to do a check and give an estimate, and I got out of the business 10 years ago. Overall, the cost of repairing this may run over $100. Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe start with an estimate and then decide what to do based on the dollars.

Hope this helps a little. Thanks for using Fixya!

What is a video IC and how do i replace it?

A video IC (integrated circuit) is one of the many parts in your TV. As the name implies, it's one of the parts that does video processing. Any IC is physically a plastic package with metal leads that connect to the circuit board. Replacement involves removing the solder from those connections and taking the old part out, then soldering the new one in. Depending on the package style and location in the set, this can range from very easy to darn near impossible without specialized equipment.

I gather from the way you've asked your question, though, that you should probably not be trying to repair a TV yourself. Without some training in electronics, troubleshooting techniques, the proper tools and some experience, TV servicing can be hazardous to you as well as possibly causing more damage to the set. I would advise you to leave the repairs to a professional servicer. If you want to keep the TV it would be money well spent.

The red color does'not work, the screen appear green only

Unfortunately, it's not possible to give you any advice about where to start trying to repair this problem on your own. Missing colors on a TV can be caused by many things: simple bad solder connections, component failures, or a bad picture tube. Without the necessary test equipment and service information, it's nearly impossible to fix many troubles.

The only suggestion I can make is to take this set to a service shop (or call for home service if it's too large to carry) and get a repair estimate if you really want to keep the TV. Or use this as an excuse to replace the set. Especially if the tube is bad, repairs may be uneconomical.

I wish I could offer more help. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya~

This can be caused by a problem within the "D" board or a bad CRT. If the D board can be fixed, that would be the least expensive repair. Even so, this will require a service tech. Depending on the cost of an estimate, you could call a service tech and explain that the TV may need a "D board" and try to get it serviced. If the D board replacement does not fix the problem, the CRT would be next. Maybe the service tech would allow you to pay a small fee for the experiment and a fixed service cost if it is the D board.

Dlp tv wont start up/ switches off

This model of LG set does suffer badly with dry joints (these are soldered joints that have oxidised or cracked)

Its not A job that I would recomend you tackle you may need specialised soldering gear when working on smd type ICS.

Try & find repair shop that does free estimates.

If A repair shop states they will repair in the home offer to take it in to them as this is very difficult to repair in the home & you will end up paying more for them to come out then take it away.
