New camera purchased in May, lightly used. battery is charged, lens cover will not open. I can review photos, but when set to "auto" I get a dark screen and lens cover is not opening.???

-   Same problem and camera beeps several times.   Very annoying.  Will take it into Best Buy tomorrow to send out.-   Guest

-   Same exact problem. Geek's squad suggestion to reset per page 24 is not accessible and only applys to Image Quality (not an available option in setup menu when in playback mode). Reaching out to Olympus for warranty service.-   Guest

Try soaking in a bowl of clean warm water.  I had the same problem and this resolved it.  gotta love water proof camera!!!

Hey brucers,
One thing you could try is resetting the camera to the default settings. Directions on how to do this are on page 24 of your camera manual and I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual incase you need it. If this doesn't I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician, and if the camera does require a repair it would most likely be covered under the cameras manufacturers warranty. To find a service center you could call the manufacturer, or you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they should be able to send it out for service. I hope this helps!
