Since upgrading firmware on my lg bd370 bluray player i can't play dvd's as it tells me to check the region code and then ejects the disc. How do i change the region code to region 4.

You applied the wrong Firmware You must get the firmware for the country of origin. Contact LG for the correct link for area 4

Region code 2 on LG DV492H not playing DVD with same code

You could try to set you firmware to Region 0 (all countries) you can do this with the remote

Eject the disc tray, and while it's open hit 0 - 0 (two zeros) on the remote.

Then enter 0 for the region code (for all regions.)

How to unlock code to make my LG BD-390 region

The fix doesn't work once you have updated the firmware.
If you did the update, you can still go back to the firmware of Aug 2009
(http://www.lge.com/us/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=BD390&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile).
Once you have installed the past firmware, you can install the hack. Choose region 0 and save.
Then you can update again the firmware to the last release and the multiregion will still work.
Good luck

How to unlock code to make my LG BD-390 region free. I am trying to play a dvd I bought in Italy 3 years ago.

Ha.... Found the soultion.

The fix is the same as fr LG 5931.
I.e. download a small file and burnit with e.g. ultraiso on a DVD-R.
Boot yr LG BD370 or 390 with the DVD in the reader - it will flicker some numbers on the Display and then say Region 0.

You get the file here:

Worked like a charm :)

I have the LG DVX392H and i want my dvd multi region free.

You'll have to make it regionfree..
This hack must do it.. (this is only software to access the region menu, no firmware will be changed).
http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com/pages/lg/5000_series_firmware.html

It will not enable 480i/p hdmi output, but all other resolutions works fine.
