Toaster does not brown toast

Our delonghi 4 slice does not get the toast dark enough. I have to put them down twice to get them dark enough. I worked with appliance repair as a teenager and wonder if there is an adjustment on the bimetal strip so I can set the time the toast are down. If so are there any secrets to disasembly I should know about? Thanks

De Longhi CT021.A x 2 slice toaser - Won't stay down

Is it plugged in. You may have to do a little handy work, unplug the unit and look to see where it catches when the handle is in down position, you may have to open the bottom door. There is a little catch when the handle is down it may need to be bent a little not much.

The element has burnt out, IF you can get another it is worth repairing, IF NOT, then it is time for a new one.

Lever will not stay down unless you hold it down to cook the toast

The latching relay is either faulty, or the timer module has faulted. That usually happens when the Toaster has a "Fault" on it. I suspect that the Timer has faulted. Toasters really aren't usually fixed, but if you have a handy appliance repair shop why not get a quote, for a repair, or replacement.

I just bought this kenmore 2 slice toaster and the toast lever won't stay down!?

Make sure it is set dark enough. Some toasters will not stay down if they are set too light.

The lever doesn't stay down anymore, what should I do?

It sounds like the latch is broken. Unless you are very comfortable opening appliances and know very well what you are doing, it is best to have the toaster replaced. Check if it's still under warranty, or buy a new one.
Any workarounds to block the lever in its down position are very dangerous and a potential fire hazard. You may be able to wiggle the lever into place so it catches whatever is left of the latch, but make sure it will pop up easily when the toast is ready.
I hope this helps.

Toast wont stay down in toaster it wont lock in place

I'm at the same crossroad. Thry holding down the lever for more than 4-secs. The light will blink once, then it is as though the circuit is over-ridden and a toasting cycle will begin. This might help to eliminate wether you have a mechanical or electrical issue. Mine appears to be electrical. I'm now investigating if it is the timing or relay?

Duraband 4 slice toaster manual model # TS-5221

if u need a manual for a toaster, then u r really in trouble...espcially for the amt of money u paid for it.
ok...
if u need instructions on how to use a toaster...here goes:
When:
A toaster is used to heat slices of bread, bagels, waffles, etc. to a hot, crispy consistency. Most toasters allow the user to set the toasting length to ensure the toasted bread comes out to temperature and crispiness to the user’s likes.
Where:
Toasters should be used on a flat, uncluttered surface near an electrical outlet but far from sinks, or running/standing water.
How:
To toast bread in a toaster, follow these instructions:

1. Place slices of toast, one each, in the slots on the top of the toaster.

2. Find the toast setting (a knob or lever) and adjust to the desired wellness of the toast. (Generally, there is a scale printed near the knob or lever ranging from light to dark toast).

3. Push down the toasting lever (moving the slices of bread down into the toaster between the heating elements.

4. When the toast is finished, the slices will “pop” up automatically.

5. Remove the toast from the toaster.
WARNING:
If the bread should get stuck inside the toaster, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING INSIDE THE TOASTER in attempt to dig it out. UNPLUG the toaster, turn it upside down and shake. If the toast does not fall out, use a plastic fork or knife to gently remove it from the toaster. Using metal utensils could damage the heating elements. NEVER stick anything in the toaster while it is plugged in.
*For further safety, it is recommended that the toaster be unplugged after each use.
I wish u luck and happy toasting.
