Neither my refig or freezer will cool. We hit the reset button, unplugged, cleaned coils, ( which weren't dirty) set temp to max. Restarted, still no cooling. There is a fan blowing in the area around the compressor. Installed 6/21/2005, not old enought in my opinion to fail.

Fan blowing around compressor area is good, is the compressor itself hot??? sounds as if the overload/relay/starter. might have failed, its ploggd into the side of compressoe and acts as a thermal overload to protect the compressor from going bad, id try pulling it off adn give it a shake, if tis bad youll know right away itll be burnt up inside.

I have a samsung fridge/freezer. Production date 2007. Model#RS20NRSV5/XSA both the fridge an freezer not getting cold The lights are on but no cold air.An cant hear anything working at the back.

Your compressor is not working that's why its not cooling and you cant hear anything.
Possible cause:
  1. thermostat is set to off or defective
  2. defective capacitor that's why your compressor failed to run.
  3. defective compressor motor
  4. Freon leak or no freon at all.
Solution:
  1. check thermostat switch or relay
  2. check capacitor and wiring.
  3. check compressor motor.
  4. Check Freon pressures.

My KTM3900WB fridge/freezer is not freezing and cooling in the fridge. The light goes and can hear the motor is running.

You are either low on freon refrigerant, or your compressor is frozen (usually due to low freon) or your compressor is bad. the motor will cycle on and off even though the compressor is not working. the refrigerator away from the wall and look compressor will be a nerf football sizedand usually black cylinder. It could be very hot or cold/frozen. can also unplug the refrigerator leave it for a few hours and plug it back in if it work you are low on freon. You need a repairman

My fridigaire FFUS2613LS is not cooling

Good Afternoon Timothy,

I understand your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FFUS2613LS, is not cooling. I also see that you hear the motor running, can't feel the fan running, and it is not cooling. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why the fan is not running and your refrigerator is not cooling. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Refridgerator is not working will not get cold

Here is the basic idea on how to keep the refrigerator, air conditioner, or vacuum cleaner to work properly. Air is moved by an electric fan or blower in order for that product to work properly. If air movement is blocked the fridge won't get cold, the central air conditioner won't cool enough, the vacume cleaner won't clean as well. Check on your fridge's air movement by inspecting the bottom of the fridge for dust and cob webs. Remove the front bottom clip-on plastic grill. Or also even access the lower back of the fridge by removeing the screws holding up the heavy cardboard cover to see inside. Blockage of air flow will prevent a fridge from getting cold. Just like a vacume cleaner stops working when the bag is filled with dust and fibers.

The air could be blocked by the accumulation of dust and fibers. Look under your fridge if it is cloged, it will look just like the stuff on a dirty central air filter.

Dust and fiber buildup blocking the fridge's air movement from back to front (or visa-versa) of your fridge will slowly (years) prevent how good it cools. The build-up of dust and cobwebs prevents your fridge from cooling (more specifically prevents the heat to disapate from the metal heat disipating fins attached to the metal tubes to be blown off by the fans air). OK! Remedy for a vacuum cleaner REPLACE THE CLOGED VACUUM BAG.

Remedy for your fridge manually REMOVE THE CLOGING DUST AND FIBERS FROM UNDER YOUR FRIDGE. SORRY fridge manufacturers do not provide a dust filter like the vacume cleaner and central air systems manufacturers do. You have to figger out the best way you can clean it. Possibly vacuum with a crevice tool, or use a small brush than vacuum. The extreme would be unplug the fridge ( so you won't get electrocuted) bring a water hose into the kitchen and spray water at cobweb buildup at the bottom fridge, than wet vac the floor then wait 20 minutes to dry before pluging the fridge back into the electric outlet.
When you stand in front of your fridge and you hear the fridge electric motor turn on, the fan will blow air.The fridge

There is no cooloing effect

the coolling in a refrigerator occurs when the compressor forces freon thru the system and the expansion of gas in the coils of the freezer takes heat away thus cooling the fridge. if no cooling is happening then the compressor is not running, the freon is to low on the charge, or the small "cap" line from the compressor to the cooling coils is blocked. Unfortunately the compressor is the most expensive part of the refrigerator and if it has stopped this can be a expensive problem. there is a few other things that can make the compressor stop. there is an overheat protection device on the side of the compressor that once in a while opens up thus no electrical power to the compressor and no cooling. the other part that can fail is the cold control thermastat. if this opens up the fridge can't start the compressor because the open condition of the cold control never "calls for cold". the other simple thing that can stop the cooling is a totally frosted up coil condition. the air can't circulate around the coils so no cold gets to the inside of the fridge. simple test step one unplug the fridge for 10 minutes then plug back in. Do you hear the motor in the bottom run? If it runs wait ten more minutes and put your hand into the freezer compartment. Do the sides feel cold? if the motor (compressor) in the bottom runs but freezer doesn't get cold then the system is defective and there will be no easy fix. If the freezer does show cold then the problem could be with the "evaporator" fan that circulates cold. this is an inexpensive part and can be replaced at a reasonable cost.

Fridge running warmer than it should, Cooling fan on back doesn't turn, the compressor/condensor running very hot , and no new ice being made. Cleaned the cooling grid which was full of dust.

Freezer works, fridge doesn't cool

Probably excessive ice in the condensor. Likely defrost thermostat or defrost heater problem.

What happens is excessive ice keeps airflow from the refrigerator part of the unit.
