Question about RCA D52W19 52" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

RCA DS1W20 Chassis ITC222

I have a problem where the TV will not turn on. sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. In pulling of the front cover, I see (3) individual boards with tubes. I think there may be a problem with one of the tube/board assemblies. if you are in agreement, is this something I can order and fix? Let me know what you suggest. Thanks!

52" RCA Scenum froze and would not turn off. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. All the lights are on in the front of the tv but it will not turn on.

The small signal board is the most likliest cause of that issue which is a very famous symptom for the ITC222 and ITC222A chassis RCA models. You can usually get the small signal board from several versions were used so they can assist with identifying which version ssb your model requires.

How do you pull out the capacitors CP150,CP114, and CP120 in a RCA tv. Model:D52W14 and the CHassis # is ITC222

they need to be unsoldered and the new ones soldered back in. Be sure to observe correct polarity when reinstalling not the Negative side of the cap matches the shaded portion of the board for correct polarity

I have an RCA DLP ,R56WH76, it wont' turn on period.

follow the power cord to where it plugs into the small AC filter board on the right side looking in the rear. Check the fuses on that board there is one but some versions of the ITC222 chassis has two fuses on that board.

While watching tv, there was a faint "pop" and the tv went dead. it will not turn on by front buttons or remote.

Does the power indicating flash three times then go out when power is pressed? If so you may need a deflection board which is famous for problems with the ITC222 chassis.

Picture on TV shuts down but sound still on.

If this RCA TV has a Chassis number of ITC222 then you need to call a tech to swap out the deflection circuit board for a new or rebuilt board. This RCA Chassis is a TV Techs worst nightmare to repair.

Hello , I believe this may be a HV/LV power supply problem since this is a common issue in this RCA ITC222 chassis, I posted this earlier and I beleive that it can help you, Hello This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board. I would also like to say that if possible you should get a qualified TV Technician to repair this set for you, due to the nature of this problem and the dangerous voltages present. I hope this helps, Shuttle83
