Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My panasonic DMR-ES35V dvd recorder will not play or record any dvds. keeps comming up "no read". troubleshooting says that there is something wrong with the disc when it says this but the disc is fine and i have tried more than one. it does not spin the disc when u put it in it only makes a funny noise. was playing fine until i put a disc in to record and it said that it had to be formatted. i followed the prompts but now it wont do anything with any disc.

When any disc is inserted you get a NO Read, and the disc does not spin, just makes a series of noises.

Hello Justloz,
The first thing you should try is unplug the unit from the power source open the case and using compressed air to blow out the unit, then take some cu tips lightly dipped in alcohol and clean the optical lens, the tray, around the spindle and gears and keep alternating this 4-5 times compressed air / cu tips. 2. With a small flashlight look the best you can and see if there is any hair, dirt, dust, etc around the spindle 3. Plug your system back in and see if this helps. 4. If this does not help then I am sorry to say the possible causes could be the spindle control board or the tray needs alignment or in a worse case scenario the optical reader needs replaced (which will cost a lot of money and is not really worth fixing unless you find a deal on it) The others are relatively inexpensive to repair, but will require you to take it to a shop where they have the proper tools to accomplish this. Hope this helps and let me know if you need further assistance.

How to transfer Panasonic DMR-E80H recorded DVDs to computer

I have to agree with XELIAM regarding finishing the disk, under the DVD "FUNCTIONS" selection from the remote. I also use the SLYSOFT products to transfer my videos to what ever other mode of video I wish to have, whether iPOD (MP4), or DIVX (AVI) or loads of other options. Slysoft makes a GREAT product

Since it went into "disk recovery mode" it now will not play dvds

Got the same problem. Happened 2 months after guarantee expired. **** machine. The only good thing is the harddrive and that is made by HITACHI not Panasonic! I go Sony next time. Panasonic quoted £200 plus to fix the problem. I only paid £220 when I bought it new.
