If I turned OFF from the On/Off button and again ON - same situation. To chek if the problem is not in my PC, I pluged the LCD to my notebook - same. Do you think I have to replace the chipset / I was surprised it LG-made!/ ?

Hi...there guys,
No, no, no.... It's not the chipset....what you guys had are a busted backlight inverter, get that replaced or repaired it. Replaced a couple of over-heated capacitors...and it will come back as good as new...

POST and BIOS Question: Dead laptop I`ve been given a Fufitsu Amilo L6825 laptop which is faulty.( It fails to get by the POST test so doesn`t even reach the BIOS option.(It switches ON, fans run but black...

Since you swapped everything, the last option will be the on-board power supply. If it has failed, then nothing will work. As a guess, I would assume the 1.8v power supply for the CPU has quit.

My laptop 5570z ( 5570-2977) had power issues and I used to juggle its ac jack to hold it on for a while but then it was not charging the batter at all and now it is dead. I thought it was all on ac jack...

I think replacing the PC38 will not resolve the issue as these are integrated chip. It might be possible due to melting of this chip possibly other chips or transistors might has short circuited. At this point, if your computer is warranty better call ACER Tech support and send it for repair or contact a local tech to get it replaced.

PC Chips M848A dead, no screen output or blips

I had the same problem. I bought the M848A from Newegg in an attempt to save my trusty Athlon 2600+ CPU and a fancy Raedon 512mb AGP card which I salvaged out of my old broken down system. I thought it would be a good time to update the RAM so I bought 2 gigs of OCZ 3200 DDR400 to go with.

Problems:
(1) First the damn thing wouldn't boot past the post screen. It would simply cycle thru post over and over. Fixed: The microsoft XPpro operating system was corrupt. The new board hated the old configs from the previous system. After trying (and failing) a os repair, I ended up simply doing a clean intall with great results. Board was stable worked great for a week. Only had one glitch...

(2) The board would only recognize and post ONE of the 2 gigs of ram I bought. I raided all the CMOS settings, and downloaded all the user manuals I could get a hold of and found no answers to this curious problem. On a whim, I opened the case and switched their locations back and forth which led me to...

(3) Lights on, no one home. All the lights came on... power, HDD, cd drives... all the fans worked: case, CPU, graphics card... but the screen would remain blank/unpowered and no post menu would come up. Seemed like it wanted to work, but simply stopped short of booting up. THIS WAS YOUR PROBLEM?!?? On a hunch, (more an angry impulse) I reached over and popped an old Mushkin Technologies (PC 3200 400DDR) 512mb out of my old dead mobo and slammed it solo in the primary memory slot. Bingo. Fired right up.

The board appears to be testy with its RAM... If it fails its initial memory test, it will not post. The screen will not come on. I'm not 100% certain this is the final solution to the problem... I'm still playing with it. My questions now are.... do I have dead RAM? Chip compatibility issues? Perhaps the PC Chips support techs on their website have some practical advice on this issue. I'll keep you posted if you like.

PC CHIP Motherboard

Now by PC chips do u mean CPUs? because if so then yes your motherboard is dead but im not sure if it would be BIOS related. There should be a battery somewhere, one like a wristwatch but bigger and flatter on the motherboard, look for it and replace it and test if it works, otherwise it is most likely your motherboard is dead and you need a new one. There is a way of fixing the BIOS if that is the problem. Its called Force Flashing BIOS. I Don't know too much about this but apparently its not hard. Google It and see what you come up with

Hope This Helps

Monitor won't turn on, no led.

If the LCD has an internal power supply, then the inverter circuit should be on the board as the power supply. If the power supply is external, then the inverter circuit will have it own board.

What is the output of the Inverter circuit? It should have 12VDC going in, but around 50VAC going to the CCFL bulbs.

The "no led" should be a sign. Your getting voltage, but what about current? It still can be the power supply. All LCD monitors should have a "soft switch", or software driven switch to turn the CCFL lamps on and off.

It is hard to find literature on LCD repair, experience is the best teacher on this subject. This might take several emails or postings to help find the answer.

LCD monitors are a computer. You can break them into several parts, Power, I/O, and processing. Power is the easiest to trouble-shoot and repair. Processing is the hardest.

I fixed one LCD monitor by re-seating the software EEPROM. The process could not do its job if it can not read the software EEPROM.

If one of your IC's is shorted, you can always tell using a can of air. Get one of those cans of air and tip it upside down and spray the entire board until it all turns white. Now apply power to the system. If an IC is shorted, it generates more heat than anything else. It will be the first to loose the white condensation. Don't worry this is safe, done it several times.
