Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller
I TRIED SYNCING IT MANY TIMES NEVER WORKED! I just got a replacement, same problem
If your controller is just blinking you must press the small button on your xbox and at the same time press the small button on the back of your xbox controller and the xbox will pick controller signal.

I'm having the same problem. Came up from out of the blue. Bought a new controller and that one won't synch either, even after repeatedly using the synch buttons on the cosole and controller.
Moral of the story? Xbox SUCKS and I'm going back to Playstation.

Press the synch button on your xbox 360 - then hold down the find/seek button on the back of your controller.

Just fixed mine. Push small sync button on Xbox. Then push middle top. Then hold small button to sync on back. Top green should start left top and circle around then stops top left green with lower right steady.

Really? Still no solution for this? I'm having the same problem, never had this problem before until I traded my old 360 for the new one. Can't wait to convert back to PlayStation when the new generation consoles come out, will never make the mistake to invest in Microsoft again; lesson learned.

I got a problem where nothing will connect, I can turn my Xbox on with the controller but it will not sync as 1st player. I tried pluging in a wired controller It will turn on then right away turn off. It is not a problem with the router either. I tried turning on the console letting it sign me in then try to trun on controler nothing. I tried using AA batteries aswell. If you have a solution please help me out thanks alot.

SOURCE: I have a brand new
The guide button won't work until its synced, you need to push the button on the console to look for controllers then the button on the controller and it will sync it and then it should work fine. If that doesn't work then try hitting the button on the controller first then the one on the console.

Try replacing the batteries in your controller. If this does not work then try the controller on another console. Failing this your controller is broken.
Best recommendation is to buy a wire and use it wired.

I finally found a solution that works for me (most of the time). I bought a USB hub (un-powered at the moment) and the problem seems to have disappeared. The Hub however isn't the solution. Running the controller or the hub from the rear motherboard ports is.
I was initially using the 360 wireless receiver from the front ports on the PC which are driven by a different circuit on the motherboard than those from the rear of the PC.
When the receiver is run from the rear ports or in my case a hub powered from the rear ports it works most of the time.
Ocassionally the receiver doesn't link with the 360 controller however unlike last time when pressing all kind of combinations of re-sync buttons did nothing, all I do now is press the very tiny white button on the front of the controller and it links up like it should within 1.5 seconds.
I hope this helps guys as the controller is great when working.

i had the same problem, and is a easy fix, turn on your console, dont need the controller on, and hold the sync button for approx 30 seconds, then turn the console off, take out the power lead from the console and then remove it from your mains, wait about 1-2 minuts then plug it up and switch on the console, first sync the xbox then the controller, and this should work, if it dosent try xbox support their number is on xbox.com
