Why is water left in the machine after cycle

Most dishwashers leave some water at the base at end of cycle.

The problem is there if a large quantity of water is left when the cycle is complete. The most common is blocked filters in the pump sump. If this is clean then the next problem could be outlet hose or the kitchen sink waste pipe. Make sure the kitchen side is clear. If all this is ok then the blockage could in the pump itself. It will look similar to this item.

Won't drain. Water sits in bottom during all cycles. Water back up to sink.

Run your garbage disposal and sink water for a few minutes in case there is anything clogging the drain. Also look under your sink in case the drain hose is kinked. That hose might also be clogged but is a difficult job - maybe pro help is needed if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. Last option is that the pump is bad and must be replaced

My dishwasher sounds as if the motor is running but there is no water spraying.

Most likely cause is the spray arms are blocked. You need to ensure it is the wash pump motor that is running and not the drain motor. Do you see water sitting at the base of the dishwasher? Does the machine complete a wash cycle (even if the water does not appear to circulate)?

Hi, hoover hed6612-80 when the door is opened the

The problem is most likely that the drain is blocked. Remove the lower front panel on the dishwasher. You will see the drain hose connected to a small pump close to the floor. disconnect the hose and remove the pump. There will be some water so be prepared with some paper towels, or rags. Remove the small pump so you can visually inspect it on the inside, remove any debris you find. If there is no debris there go under the kitchen sink and disconnect the other end of the dishwasher hose. you can then remove the entire hose to inspect it for a blockage. If no blockage in the hose, you must then check the path of the drain water through the garbage disposal [if you have one] and then the trap.

All the water will not drain out of the bottom of the washer

Hi there

No machine will drain all the water out of the machine as when the sump empties the drain pump cannot push anymore water out and when the pump stops, the water that is in the drain hose will run back into the machine most newish machines have a non return valve fitted to the drainage system but these do not always work as they are prone to getting things like small fish bones and seeds stuck in them.

I really hope this helps you.

Water drains to drain air gap on sink

Hi John,
From your description, it sounds like the line going into your drain system ( through the garbage disposal or directly into your drain itself) may be restricting water flow.. A quick test would be to detach your drain hose and cycle an empty dishwasher but run the drain water into a rubber barrel so as to eliminate your drain system from being the root cause. If it doesn't drain correctly into a barrell, then you may have a clogged filter or an something in the pump ( including but not necessarily the problem.. a bad pump) Try this test and let me know what happens..

Rick

Dishwasher not draining

Hello Tony,
Before pointing the finger at the pump.. try these few things first..
Make sure your drain screen filter is free of food by products and not restricting water flow out
Make sure your drain hose is not pinched, clogged or restricting water flow out
Make sure the place your drain hose drains into is not restricting water flow out

If you have water remaining in the base of the wash compartment, bail out as much as you can then run a dishless cycle to see how much water remains in the comaprtment. If it drains completely, then you should be ok.. if not then, you may have a bad pump, obstruction in the line into or out of that pump.. Let me know how it goes after you run thru the checks listed above and the outcome of the wash cycle. Hope this helps..

Regards

Dishwasher not draining

The drain system is pretty easy to understand and the checks you can do will identify how to fix it..
First off, check the screen filter in the bottom of the dishwasher.. all water must exit thru that filter before it can be pumped out..if that is clean..check the drain hose itself is not kinked or pinched off.. ( depending on your set up..you will find it attached to a drain trap or directly to a stub off the side of your garbage disposer..if you have one..).. make sure that the path the drain water travels is free and not restrictive.. ( meaning: that your drain hose goes into your house drain system and that it is not restricting the water flow thru it).. Lastly.. and as a check.. your pump, the hoses leading to and from it may be bound up ... as a check...you can detach the drain hose and route it into a large bucket or pail under the sink then try cycling the dishwasher.. when it gets to the cycle where it drains.. you should get a very good flow into that bucket.. be careful with this test because if it is working right.. the flow should be fairly high..If it is , then stop the dishwasher and reattatch it to the drain system and monitor its performance there.. If it doesn't pump the water very well..then you may have a restrictive drain system in your house.. Hope this helps..

Dishwasher tripping fuse box

Has the door got any heavier, as mine started tripping the electrics when a spring broke and short circuited the connections.
f so you will have to get the spring out, from the underneath is best and replace it if you want the door to work correctly again. On mine the second one went a month later.
