My lg laptop is not sounding out, and it shows sound device not detected

Isaac, their are so many reasons why the speakers wont sound. since its showing sound device not detected, it is possible that the for your audio device is not installed. if you use a windows7 operating system, on the start search type device manager when it comes out , click on it. go down to audio rightclick and select update drivers. if searches and didnt find it, then insert the driver disc your system came with. this should do it.

another reason why the speakers wont sound is if their is a hardware faliure. in this case all you have to do is see a technician or a computer engineer.

am sure this will do.

cheers!

No sound device detected? I have speakers attached properly

Download the driver from the website
http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html
for your model and execute the audio file after completion, restart the system. If still it is not detecting then in device manager if any sound drivers are detected with exclamation marks, remove it and then restart.

Computer doesnt recognize sound card

One of two things happened - Either the driver for the sound card became corrupted, or the sound card died. First thing to do is go through the control panel, and the add new hardware wizard, see if Windows detects and installs the card. If it detects the sound card, but can't find the driver, open the computer case, make a note of sound card manufacturer and model number, and use the manufacturer's support site to download and reinstall the drivers. (Alternately, if the card is integrated, or was put in the system by Acer, and if you're not concerned about data loss, many Acer desktops have a System Recovery partition, accessible by restarting and holding Alt. + F10 during post/startup - varies for some models)

If driver detection/reinstallation is unsuccessful, power off the system(Unplug the power cord as well), open the case, move the card to a different slot, restart the system, and try driver detection again.

If the card is STILL not showing up in device manager, its likely toast. You can purchase a decent Sound Blaster 5.1-7.1 sound card for under thirty bucks on Ebay, at WalMart, etc.

Sound drive is not installed or not working properly

Click Start > Settings (classic menu) or directly to > Control Panel > System,

Click the Hardware tab at the top. Click Device Manager and find the category "Sound, video and game controllers".

Click the plus sign and see if there is an Audio controller listed or anything with a yellow highlighted exclamation point in front or a red X.

Click any item mentioned in the previous paragraph and hit the delete key on your keyboard. Click Okay or yes to removing the device. Remove all items one by one that meet the criteria in the previous paragraph.

Click okay to close out of Device manager then reboot the computer.

If Device manager has no audio devices listed at all, and you are sure you actually have an audio connection on the back of your computer (sound card or integrated sound), then it is likely the sound card or circuitry has failed.

Let me know if this works or if you have additional information/questions for me.

No audio device on notebook

Cable3,

Sounds like you indeed have a problem with an audio hardware driver. Presumably the 'Audio Device on High Definition Bus' is the system detecting a device it doesn't have a driver installed for.

First question - was the sound working previously? If so, did you recently install any type of audio software not related to the sound device itself?

Please provide the exact model number of the VAIO notebook and we can point you to the correct driver and try that for starters.
