Denon AVr hookup advice

posted by khanfaisalv on Jul 06, 2008

Hi
I have a Denon AVR 988 receiver. its a 7.1 channel and i have only used it as 5.1 channel surround in my living room in basement. Now I have two outside speakers I want to setup on the deck outside. Right now I have taken a parralled connnection out for these speakers from the front right and front left speaker channel from the receiver but the voice quality is really bad on the outside speakers. I want to be able to hook up the outside speakers with the reciever so that when I play CD in the player somehow the 5.1 channel doesnt get activated and I can get the entire music from the two speakers on the deck. Pls let me know how can i hook this up asap.
regards

Hi khanfaisalv

You can use Zone2 feature that is built into this amp, then have dvd playing in one room, and cd playing in another. Both controlled separately

Page 10 of the manual tells you how to hook up the wires to Zone2

Page 30 has details of how to get it up and going.

Good luck with the rewire job, thanks for using FixYa
