Question about HP Computers & Internet

Device manager hi there I just installed wxp and the device manager says I have 3 question marks yellow, how do I get the drivers from the internet if one of the problems is the ethernet controller ?the others are the multimedia audio controller, video controller thankx pete

You need to identify what video card, ethernet card and audio card you got inside your pc, then go to devices' websites and download proper drivers.
If you do not know what devices you have, then you need to go inside your computer and put on google the numbers printed on boards.
If devices are all integrated on mother board then you need to identify motherboard model and download drivers for integrated devices.

After formatting Hard disk & loading new windowsXP SP2 ,i am unable to connect internet through my mtnl router HG520 ADSL2+


you need to install network adapter first before you can connect to internet
check it at device manager, is there any yellow mark?if yes insert you motherboard cd driver
then chose to install LAN card driver
the otherway is install from device manager. with cd driver inserted right click at yellow mark then chose update driver, follow the step untill process finish and the yellow mark at device manager disappear
try to connect to internet through your modem

I have an internet connection but when I log on to explorer it shows Internet Explorer cannot display the web page


check your device manager . .

1.go to windows start menu ham210.gif
2.right click my computer and choose device for windows xp2/3 or if you use windows 7 choose manage
3.then click on device manager ham210.jpg
make sure your all drivers are installed . .
if you can see the yellow question mark icon. thats driver is not insltall on your computer

and if the network adapters has the sign yellow icon install your correct driver in your notebook . .:)

Maybe go to their website and see if there are any driver upgrades. The question marks used to mean that there was an issue with driver conflicts or port issues. Maybe click on the item, right click to properties and maybe try to update the driver.
Or since its Dell, call customer support.

control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager,sound,could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers

Hi there, I'm trying to install vedio graphic drivers for IBM 8305 but it is not acceping drivers that I downloaded from IBM site. Could you please help me what is conflicting while installation of these...


right click "my computer" and select "properties" then click on "Hardware", Inside the hardware, select "Device Manager"
Inside the Device Manager, see whether there is a yellow Question mark before the start of any name, If there it will be the driver which either not there or not updated. Right click that driver and the first option will be update Driver. Select it and it will ask you to update automatically, select it and it will search on the internet for the best available driver for your hardware. If there was more yellow Question marks with the items in the Device MAnager, then repeat the same process with all. If ther was no Yellow Question mark, then select "Sound,video and game controllers" and select for the option of sound it in and right click it, and select uninstall driver. Once uninstalled then Inside the control panel, select add new hardware. and follow the steps which come in your way. If no yellow question mark, then once the Device Manager is opened, right click the first thing written inside the box, and the option will come " scan for hardware changes" click it, and u may find something like , Found new Hardeware, and it will start seraching for the drivers automatically using the internet

Cant play sound it keeps asking for multimedia audio controller when i install audio driver it states RPC Server not found


It sounds like you have the wrong driver installed or there are more drivers that you need to install and update.

One way to ensure that you install the correct drivers is to go through the Device Manager and update your driver.

This is for a Windows XP system

To Update your drivers through Device Manager, pls do the following:

1. Attach your computer to the internet, make sure you can get on the internet by launching your browser, ie. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari
2. Navigate to Start/Control Panel, System
3. Choose the Hardware Tab and click Device Manager
4. See if there are yellow exclamation marks or question marks listed
5. Select them and right click on each one (you have to do this one by one until you see no more yellow exclamation marks or question marks)
6. Choose Update Driver
7. Follow the prompts to complete (usually by clicking ok to all the prompts)

This is for a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system
1. Connect your computer to the internet and ensure that you have internet connection by launching your browser and surfing to your favorite website.
2. Navigate Start/Control Panel/System
3. On the top left hand corner, click Device Manager
4. Do the same from 5-7 under the Windows XP directions up above.

Again, remember that sometimes drivers are related to something else on the system. Therefore you may need to update one or more drivers. This is the only way to ensure that you get everything.

Hi there,looks like your devices need updates to function correctly,

from devices manager,
select the device with the yellow question,
right click and click on update
even if you have no disk or internet
let the wizard find the drivers automatically
should be preinstalled with your OS XP
go thru your list and update any other question marks in yellow.

Should be able to update the network device on this system and then connect to the internet to finish anything else

No Internet


Hi,

You may try checking the network driver of your computer.

1. click start --- right click "My computer / Computer".

2. click Manager then look for device manager.

3. under device manager on the left column. Look for your network adapter if it has a yellow question mark or a red x mark.

Red X - disabled.(right click then select enable)
yellow mark - driver is not installed/corrutped (you need to install the driver online or from the cd that came with the computer)

4. Restart

Now, if the issue still the same. Try a different computer and check if you can connect to the internet. If the issue still the same. Call you Internet service provider to check on the connection.
