Power adapter and cord are fine there is 159 volts on the main filter in power supply Fuse in power supply is good there is b+ to all the SMPS mosfets but the thing won't start us and run

  • eldenmon Jul 06, 2008

The power supply is inside the tv. there is power to to the switching transistors but they are not starting up. this is a dual supply and there is no voltage at the output of these. have ESR checked the electrolytics and checked all the diodes and transistors to no avail.

If it is the tv that is not starting, and power adapter is tested and fine, then there is a problem with the tv.

    hello sir

till smps is fine .thats good...now i think the prob is beyond smps.i mean,,smps drives the EHT(picture valve), audio, remote sensor power etc..

i think there shud be a problem with smps delivering power to EHT which produces high voltage to produece th picture..do chenk the motherboard n smps wheter the connection is establishe properly

    thanking u for using fixya

    hi sir,,

yes i can gt ur problem.. i hearby conclude that ur switching transister go either short circuited or damaged..

ur prob can be rectified by replacing al th e switching trans alomng with assosiated reistors, switching diode,

    thank u

  • Harrish Mugundhan Jul 07, 2008

You will have to have it serviced by a tech who can properly diagnose the exact cause and replace the parts associated with the failures. Unfortunately, you can purchase a new 25 or 26 inch set for $159 and up, so you will have to decide if you want to repair or replace. Normally a set over 4 years of age is not worthy of any major repair; this because of the constant increase in repair costs and the dramatically lower prices of tv sets on the market.

    Wishing you the best,

No power

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

The main reason why your TV won't turn on is because of its power supply board. This power supply board are composed of capacitors that are the responsible for the proper supply of current to your TV. If one or many of these capacitors are already burned out or "dead" your TV won't turn on at all. Here's what you've got to do:

1. Open your TV or let somebody do it, much better a technician.
2. Check the Power Supply Board.
3. Check the capacitors. Remove the "dead" ones and replaced it with "new" ones. You can buy capacitors to the nearest hardware in your town, or to your service provider.

I would suggest you to do it with a presence of a TV technician, so that you will be guided properly. Thanks for your question. I hope it helps....

Won't power on

Hello,

Common problem with this TV is the power supply module.
Check the power supply; look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops, check to see if you have standby +5vdc at the power supply connector, the front red indicator will not be on if you do not have this +5vdc standby voltage due to shorted out power transistor and zener diode, if other otherwise Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytime.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Take care in solving the problem, because it contain high voltage...

81865gvmx mother board when ipress the power switch cpu fan does not start and the set remains in dead condition.

its most likely either your power button or power supply having an issue ensure the power buttons wires are all connected correctly as per the key for the motherboard and if its still not starting try using a different power supply if its still not working than its most likely a dead motherboard
