My thermal coffee carafe is coffee stained. How do I clean it?

I have had success with putting a small amount of liquid dishwasher soap in the carafe. Then, I fill it with water. I let it set for a few hours. Then, I rinse the carafe out and follow up with a regular washing - cloth and warm water. It is sparkling when I am done. I find that I don't have to do this often.

You can also use brewer's sanitizer. it is found at brewing stores but can be used for many things. Just make sure you dilute the stuff! It works on everything and is completely food grade safe. Sparkling new in just a few minutes!

How to clean coffee stains on white coffee maker

Plastic can absorb Stains, so you will need to use some kind of bleaching poduct.

some products you can try individually:
  • Baking soda
  • Bleach
  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Rubbing alcohol
Dilute with luke warm water , except for Rubbing Alcohol
Use some kind of tray which you don't mind if it gets bleach stains to protect your countertop. put the device on the tray.
If you can't soak an item, try disconnecting the device, then wrapping a lightly soaked hand towel or paper towel over the area that is discolored

Rinse with luke warm water, and make sure device has completely dried before reconnecting.

Coffee pot turns off after brewing

This is the correct operation for this type of coffeemaker. It uses the thermal carafe to keep the coffee warm after brewing, and doesn't use power to operate a warming plate

How do I run the clean cycle?

I assume you mean descaling the coffee maker when the Clean indicator flashes after a brewing cycle. You can use a packaged descaling product or white vinegar. For the packaged descaling agent, follow the package directions for the ratio of product and water. If you are using vinegar, fill the carafe with a 50:50 mixture of water and vinegar.

Remove the water filter and remove any coffee and coffee filter from the brew basket. Make sure the unit is plugged in and turned on. Pour the descaling mix from the carafe into the water tank and then place the carafe in the coffee maker. You have 10 seconds to program the cleaning mode or the unit will return to the standby mode. The next step depends on the type of carafe. For a machine with the glass carafe, press Mode 6 times. Otherwise for a unit with the thermal carafe, press Mode 5 times. The Clean indicator will blink. Press Program/Set followed by the + or - button to select Clean On. Press and hold Program/Set until you hear the beep. Press Brew and wait for the cycle to complete (the Clean indicator will go off). Then do two brewing cycles with water but no coffee or coffee filter. Discard the fluid from the coffee maker from all three cycles. Wash the brew basket and then reinstall the water filter.

If you notice an odd taste to the coffee when you next brew some, do at least one more rinse with water (remove the water filter and coffee grounds/filter).

Does DeLonghi make a thermal carafe for coffemaker model number DC312T ? If so, where can we get one?

Can't use a thermal carafe with this unit even if one were available. The thermal carafe doesn't require a heating unit under it while sitting on the coffee maker. It keeps the coffee hot by it's built in insulation in the pot.
Just buy a regular insulated pitcher at most any appliance outlet (WalMart, Target, etc.) and pour it in it. Just shut off the coffee maker then.

Coffee over flowing. It is not emptying into carafe.Just a little coffee goes into the thermal carafe through the lid. Majority goes onto the counter top.

That unit has to be replaced, or you need a new part for it. There is nothing you can do on your own to fix that problem. Call the manufacturer right away, because they may consider that a quality issue since you could be burned by the overflowing water/coffee.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Thermal carafe clogged

I was once able to disassemble the top of the carafe and clean it thoroughly. I've had these clogging problems before, and it has not been the filter chamber that is the problem, but the vent in the carafe being clogged. When the air from the inside of the carafe can't be displaced faster than the coffee is draining in, the coffee stops draining into the carafe, fills the top, and spills over the side.

Will probably end up buying a replacement lid, as I can't figure out how to open the top without destroying it. I must have gotten lucky the time I was able to take it apart.
