I have the same problem and have worked past it by turning the unit off, waiting until I hear the mechanism stop completely and turning it back on. Sometimes this works the first time and, more often, I have to repeat the process several times. Eventually everything comes up as it should and the unit functions as it was designed. It doesn't work long, and almost always has to be 'rebooted' the next time I want to use it. Except that it is a great unit when it works, I would toss it on the garbage pile and get something else.
OK sorry! I get carry away some times.
take a look the computer itself (not the monitor). it should have the model of the machine on it. if you turn the machine around, it should have the manufacture name and the machine model on a sticker.
if you don't find any of these things, then it is a custom build machine, you have to find out who builded. he or she should able to answer my questions.
I'm also having this problem as well, it has to do with the OS and it is corrupted. It seems like the "Game mode" has been corrupted preventing us from playing games on the hard drive or reading games.
It might be an older CD player that can't read computer-made discs, or it could be a disc incapability...
If you sure that the system supports the disc's format.. And it won't play other discs... try to clean the CD lens.
Sorry i cant help you more.
