I just received a GPX JM250S Karaoke Party Machine. I have not tried a actual Karaoke CD yet. I plugged ipod in. Problem is- music is playing, then when I speak into mic music stops playing. There is no music in the background while singing. How do I fix? I don't want to be singing without any music in background. Music plays when ever not speaking into mic, then stops while I speak into mic, comes right back after I stop speaking into mic.

The music to sing along with apparently MUST come from a disk played on the unit. It appears that the external audio jacks are just to use the unit as either a boombox or to drive a larger sound system. You will have to convert your IPOD music into a Karaoke compatible CD to be able to sing along with it... They probably detect MIC input and mute any incoming signals from the RCA jack inputs,

GPX Karaoke Machine with AM/FM radio and cassette, Manufactured 1/2001 Model C1550 do not know how to hook up to TV/VCR ?

On the rear of the unit, the RCA jack on the lower left corner of the jack panel should be yellow and marked Video out. take a RCA to RCA plug into the video out on the unit, then plug the other end into Video in on the TV.
I'll attempt to send you the manual thru the link below:

You MUST use SPECIAL Karaoke disks that have the lyrics... Is that what you are using?

Daughter received a GPX JM250S Karaoke Party Machine for Christmas and can not get the lyrics to display. I have a CD-G and it is on that setting, but no lyrics.

From the FAQ for this unit:

Make sure that you are in either CDG or AUX mode and then adjust the BRIGHT, CONTRAST, AND V-HOLD knobs, on the back of the unit, if needed

What cord do you need to plug the ipod into the karaoke machine

This depends on the karaoke machine in question. Mostly the Ipod accepts a 3mm earphone jack and the karaoke is supposed to support the regular av in 2 pin jack. so all you need to do is get the single 3mm headphone jack to 2 pin av in jack. that should work perfectly.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

When i put a cd in to play, we cant get the words to show on digital screen??

You MUST use a special Karaoke CD disk to show lyrics on the screen. Plain music CD's will play music but NOT display the lyrics. Karaoke disks can be expensive... so shop online for Karaoke CD's. Some music stores, including Costco and other warehouses sell some Karaoke disks, but they are usually in a very small section of the displays.

We are trying to use the Karaoke Machine and the words don't display. And we don't see any audio input to connect the ipod.

You would connect the IPOD to the RCA jacks on the back, HOWEVER the audio through there cannot be used for Karaoke. Te only other possibility is to mix the stereo channels of the IPOD and run them into one of the MIC inputs.

To get words, you must buy special Karaoke CD's that have the music and the lyrics. Search for sellers of the disks using Google.
