Hi mikepam

The load rollers will have something on them or have just given up the ghost. The load mechanism may also be out of alignment, or the load motor stopped functioning. Either way, you will need to get the unit serviced.

My car radio is displaying "LOCKED" on the screen. The car is a ford fiesta. The unit type is FDB200 and the serial number is M036699.I was wandering if you could help me unlock it?

Does it say LOCKED 10

or LOCKED 13

or just LOCKED.

If just LOCKED then leave it switched on for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself

This may be an hour or more

It sounds like something is jammed in the carriage or the carriage assembly is bent slightly. You will need to remove it and see if it can be straightened, if not, then replaced.

Ford ka radio displays locked 3

If it displays LOCKED 3 then leave it SWITCHED ON UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.

Make sure you have the correct code

However if it says LOCKED 13 then your radio is fully locked (due to 13 or more wrong codes being entered previously ) and can only be reset by the Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

See if the cd is not fully inserted, take another cd and gently try to put it into the cd player to push any stuck cds back in. If this does not work you will need to replace the radio.

more than likely something got stuck or broken ..
You will need to open it up and see if there is anything you can notice that may be causing the problem. more than likely the loder. if you think you can move it back into place or frmove the jammed components then by all means do. if not take it to an electronic technician.

Hi,

The easiest that could be suggested is to "borrow" a CD cleaner similar to those used for CD ROMs of computers. Its purpose is to clean the "lens"/optical reader of the CD changer. The error "loading" indicates that the CD changer recognizes the presence of a CD but for some reason could not continue reading (loading). Other than this, all others would require opening the unit for diagnosis and repairs. The bulk of the work would be removal of the CD changer from its current location, opening the insides to gain access to the laser and the mechanism. This would really require a\n in-shop work. Hence if the cleaning does not prove to be corrective, then your best would be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
