My 1987 Toyota Supra will idle (or rev up) from 1rpm to 3rpm's. I've replace the mass airflow sensor and it didn't help. What could be the problem?

It could be an electrical problem such as the alternator is going out, or it could be the ecu. You can take the alternator to be tested at your local auto parts store. The ecu can be tested at some import auto repair shops or by swapping it out to see if that changes anything.

Wat is rong wen a 2 4 turbo only revs to 18 00 revs usully does it once a week then comes rite nex day

I would start by checking ignition components (spark plugs, wires) for wear or damage. Then I would take a good look at your mass airflow sensor. Specifically, I would check the connector for corrosion or damage. Any bad connection at the MAF sensor will lead to an array of strange symptoms that defy explanation. I would resist simply replacing this sensor without checking the connector thoroughly as it's fairly expensive and if there is a bad connection in the connector, replacement will do nothing but waste money.

My 2005 Mazda 3, Engine Problems

I honestly think that it is your mass airflow sensor that either went bad or needs cleaning. Auto Zone can run a computer test on your car and diagnose your problem, and if so, they carry a special can of Mass Airflow Cleaner put out by CVR that cost around 6 or 7 bucks. The mass airflow sensor determines how rich to make the gas. This would cause the car to hesitate or jump. Hope this helps. Please leave feedback!

1987 GTA trans am TPI. it runs rough and rich. i let it run by itself and now it won't start unless i flutter the fuel pedel and then it still runs really rough and won't rev up. what can i look for?

I would suspect either the tps or mas air flow sensor, you can unplug the mass air flow sensor ( located in air tube to throttle body) see if this helps. The mass airflow sensor may need to be replaced. please rate if this helps

What would be the best thing to do to my non turbo 1987 toyota supra to make it faster

Best bang for the buck is going to be airflow. As in cold air intake and exhaust upgrade.

My 2000 max also revs up on its own.

Throttle position sensor or mass airflow sensor needs to be checked.

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.

Can you not get any RPM out of it above idle, or does it rev to a certain point (say, 2400 RPM) and then refuse to go higher? If it's the latter, where the revs stop at a certain low point, check the mass airflow sensor out - on my 300ZX, a bad mass airflow sensor triggered the computer to limit RPM to 2400 to keep from damaging anything in the engine.
