It does not require any special software to read mp3s coz the phone comes with a player of its own. However the issue might be with the memory card itself. If your phone reads the mp3s on the phone take it for granted you have got a bad or incompatible card. Your phone can read only Micro SD cards. You can put mp3s on it by syncing with the computer or by using a card reader as Zwarrior has suggested. When you connect the card reader to the computer then it will be shown as a seperate drive and all you have to do is copy and paste songs onto the memory card.

Good Luck!

Click on the mp3 you want to copy, right-click and click copy. Then Open the memory card(shon under removable drives) and right-click and paste. If there is a folder like media etc., on the card then open it and open mp3 player and then paste it.

this is wat samsung tech guys says

    My Music

My Music lets you save and play downloaded MP3 files on your memory card.

In standby mode, press the MENU key (ok button ), then press 7(for

) and 7 for My Music. A list of your MP3 files on the

memory card appears in the display.

Use the navigation keys to highlight a file and press the key.

Reading memory card

Try using another memory card, this time of less capacity i.e if you were using say a 8GB SD card, try a 4GB or 2GB one. It could be your phones not compatible with the cards storage capacity.

Hope it helps.Thank you.

Memory card Samsung Nv3

This is a common problem and I had the same issue. Samsung only guarantees that a 1GB external memory card will work. If you look at the user manual on page 77. I just used a 1GB memory card instead and it worked fine.
I am not saying that no memory cards greater than 1GB will work but I would try to find someone that has used the brand and size and knows that it will work.

The player can only handle cards of a certain size, usually 1gb or less. I would go back over the user's manual and make sure you followed the instructions to the T.

Sandisk Sansa e130

I have a 1GB SD card in my E130 Sansa. I had fill it up to 998MB. The only problem is that I have to leave 3MB in the flash unit. I guess it need it for constructing the Music Library.
The Flash (512MB) and the SD card (1GB) are both in FAT32.
I guess that it may be a problem of the SD card itself and not a problem of the Sansa.
1) Have you tried to read the SD card with a card reader (without the Sansa)?
2) Have tried formatting the SD card (not a quick format, but a real one) in FAT32 (be careful about that).
