Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Often had to press 'Start' up to 5 times to get it going. All lights light up but then go out. Occasionally the pump would run for a minute or so then whole shooting match would close down. Recently we were lucky and it filled with water but sadly disappointed when it closed down again. 8 people in the house so had to do the dishes in the sink (again!!). Plenty of helpers and a glass or two of wine so things weren't that bad. Not good for Dishlex though especially when others say theirs are not Dishlex, are older and still going. No, not the child lock - have managed to set and unset that a couple of times and still won't pump out. Pump seems to be running but no output then shuts down again. No serviceman available for another ten days. Is this a common fault? Lady who took the call seemed rather aware of our predicament and blogs on the Dishlex Global 300 site suggests so. Can someone help with a bit of advice please? Many thanks in anticipation. PaulN.

Problem not solved yet.
Cleaned the filters well, hoses clear and water delivery happens.
Both pumps work happily so are not seized/locked up or have anything jambed in them (pulled them both out and checked for foreign objects and impellor operation).
Seems to be in the contol panel so with lack of time available to me now due to the number of other ocmmittments, I will await the servicman to call next week.
Only two of us till Friday so I think we can cope.
Thanks for your offer to assist though.
If the serviceman wants to charge $400 I'll throw them both down the front stairs. It's not worth that much - will buy another (but alternative brand) on e-Bay if that's the case.
What I will do though, is post the repairs on this site once completed so all will know.

Regards

Blindy

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

i had the exact same thing happen to me with my first car, a 1966 mercury comet.

i replaced the fuel pump, rebuilt the carburetor (twice), and finally rebuilt the entire engine! still, every time afterwards, the car ran ok, then would cut off again!

it turned to be just a $2 clogged fuel filter. i' suspect the same with your vehicle. after removing the filter, simply blow through it. any resistance, means it needs replacing.

Occasionally Battery light goes on momentarily

could be a defective alternator, but the mechanic will need to check it while the light is on. I know that sound like BS but if he checks it while the light is off, of course its going to check good.
