Question about Fuji FinePix E500 Digital Camera
when I turn on the camera I only see a USB-sign and below a symbol which shows two arrows (like a changing-symbol) and a "DSC".
When I press any button nothing happens. I already changed the batteries and I also ejected the card and waited a while before I turned it back. The result is the same.
With kind regards
if you see no reation of the pressing of the button i.e. no focusing, no error message nothing , then most probably a simplest problem , the shutter release button may not be working for few reasons : 1) defective switch. 2) defective flex cable. 3) camera exposed to some physical jerk or dropping resulting into disalingment between inner switch and the shutter release button.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, it would appear that all the hardware perform nominally. This would then indicate that it is the software half that has some glitch. The software/firmware normally could be re-flashed or updated but would require specialize equipment/interface which are not readily available to most user(s).
This then would require the services of an authorized service center for Fuji digital cameras capable of handling your camera's specific requirement. If the cost of repairs and downtime would be factored in, then you may have to re-evaluate your options of having it repaired and/or consider a replacement.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.
