Thanks for stopping by fixya.com for help.

My name is Jei and I'll try my best to help you out.

From what I can gather your saying you can no longer get attachments in your email. There are several reasons why this may happen, but I'll cover the two simplest ones first.

1. You have done an update and your email software has reset to not allow attachments.

To check if this is the case, open your email program. I am assuming your using Outlook Express at the moment. Once your email is open Click on "Tools" then "Options" from the very top of the program. Up where File, Edit, View is.

Once in "Options" click the "Security" tab. In this section you should have a checkbox that reads "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened....." uncheck this box and press ok.

You may need to close your email program down by pressing the X in the upper right hand corner then re-open it.

If this does not work, or you are using a different email program, you may also want to check your anti-virus software to see if it is blocking attachments.

Hope this helps out and feel free to ask again if not.

Jei

How to install for window 2000 software ?

You'll need the cd-rom for it and it shouldn't be a proprietary version of it that works only on a particular model.

If it's all the same, using Windows XP, Vista, or 7 is better than 2000. Windows 2000 was rather buggy like its predecessors, and using a later operating system allows more software possibilities.

I don't know many people who are using Windows 3.1, or Windows 95, or Windows 98, or Windows 2000 anymore.

It has windows 2000 in it and it will not load all the. can i uninstall it and put windows 98 or xp in?

Hi,
You can put XP or Win98 on that machine but i certainly wouldn't install Win98. This is because you are going have a very difficult time locating 98 drivers for the hardware in the unit.
I would recommend XP because it has much more support and the drivers should be easy enough to get hold of.
If you do install XP it would also be a good idea to upgrade the system memory so XP runs smoothly.

Regards.

Running digi 001 on windows 7

i got digi 001 running on windows 7...
i left my xp on hard disk while installing win 7. it kept xp on folder windows.old folder. in control panel i saw digi as multimedia adapter wich system couldn't recognice. hit "change settings" -> driver -> update driver
used my old windows to search for driver. it found "Dalvin.sys" driver for adapter. installed that. after that windows recogniced digi 001.
downloaded "digidesign asio 6.11" driver installer for win-xp and ran it.
and bingo - it works!
in every step windows was complaining and asking do i want to do this. just yeah'd everything. as i just had a clean install of win 7 i just thought whatta heck i can install everything again if it would not work, but it did.

so in a nut shell:
1: install Dalvin.sys in control panel for digi 001
2: run digidesign asio 6.11 driver installer for win-xp

for me it worked but i absolutely take no responsibility if you mess your system with this! at least reaper got a sound out of it. i haven't tried to record anything yet. but asio settings seemed to work as they used to do in xp.

Windows corrupt and driver set

Hi,

Re your queries:
1. "Is their any possible way to save my data from the other operating system which I can currently use?" - possibly

2. Also, can any one help me to attain the drivers for ASUS z91?
Most of the needed drivers for an Asus Z91E are available at the Asus Website > http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=Z91E

Most corrupt files in Windows would not delete your Japanese My Documents. What would probably be gone would be ntldr, hal, various dlls and sys files but most of your .doc would remain intact.  If you can boot using the English Win XP Pro and presuming you have 2 different usernames 1 for the Japanese and another 1 for the XP Pro, then chances are that you can still access the Japanese My Documents. It may not be shown but it should be there under the Japanese username.

Assumng you have administrator privileges, Click on Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, tick: Show hidden files & folders, untick hide extensions for known file types, untick hide protected operating system files.

This should expose what were hidden before. Of course it is a different problem altogether if you have the 2 OSes installed on 2 different partitions.

Hope this be of some help. Post back how things turn out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
