I have a Hoover 5030d & its making a noise as the barrell turns. If spun manually it sounds a bit like a bearing. Is it easy to change a bearing on a Hoover 5030d?

It sounds like the engine shaft bearing. Fairly simple to fix or replace with the correct tools and know how.
Be sure to take photo's of the motor, tension arm, and any wiring.
You'll need pliers to remove the clamp from the fan, then remove the belt from the motor and make sure that's were the problem is before going any further.

Hello, i have a hoover dryer, model 5030D, secondhand, it is just been purchased my us. we put on our first load on and the machine stopped within 15minutes. we noticed then that the machine was...

Hi, if I remember correctly this model originally came with 2 faceplates so the controls can still be easily accessed, when the dryer was installed upside down on a wall. Most dryers can be run upside down, or even on their side as I done in the past with my Hoover 5030D, so the problem would lie elsewhere.

Will not heat, it only blow cold air, how do I change the heating element inside the unit

If the drum turns, it could be as simple as a blown fuse or breaker. The dryer has doule breaker or fuses at fuse panel. If the one blows, the heater will not work but motor willturn as motor rums on 110volts. It may be cut out thermostat or could be element, but check the power to the plug of dryer out let and make sure you getting 110 volts on from neutral to both sides and 220 between two live lines.

Dryer will not start

If it isn't the motor starter capcitor could be a winding burned in the motor. I would replace both together and be done with it.

Dryer makes squeaking noise

If it has not been squeaking for an extended time you can get by with just changing the rear drum sleeve bearing (WE3X75). To do this, open dryer door, remove screws going up into top, allowing top to swing up and back. Remove screw holding front panel to side panel near top just under where the top was. Tilt front panel forward and lift off bottom pegs. Swing to side (you don't have to remove wires). Pull drum forward about 6 inches. (you don't even have to remove the belt.) Change sleeve at center back of drum. Make sure to inspect the front drum support slides WE1M481dark ones and WE1M333 white ones (about 1/2 inch x 2.5 inch strips at the top of the front panel which support the front of the drum), as about the time the rear bearing goes, these may be wearing also, especially the one on the left side.

Drier

I just saw this model advertised in Australia online and they said, less than a year old!

model 5030D???????????????????

I would not buy a used appliance!
Just putting good money into bad. Unless I can afford to fix it.
And I f so I would be better buying a cheap new one and take the extended warranty in today's market.
But everyone's not me!
