Please confirm no short circuit between your cables and no short circuit in cables itself-start testing with good cable and apply speaker one by one until you find the fault.change it with good new brand one.

Hi, avatar6.jpgbudfaulkner7

The 130 special was released as a Combo Amp, though I have seen quite a few taken out of the original cabinet and used in a rack system. Mine had a single 12" Scorpion speaker, I think a revised model came out in 86 (in Canada at least) that had twin 10" black widows.

Caused speakers to smoke:(

If it's the speaker cabinet itself that';s smoking, you have most likely burnt some components in the passive crossover. Pull it out and you may see melted parts or scorching on the circuit board. Peavy does repairs on it's own products pretty reasonably if there's no local tech. Call Peavey Customer Srervice at 877-732-8391.

Peavey banit 65 guitar amp. When turned on it makes a loud almost feedback sound with out anything pluged into it.

A few things can cause it. Bad ground\bad power supply filter capacitor\bad low level op amp IC. You most likely have a bad power supply or trouble at your input jack. Good luck!

Peavey pv1500 amp got signal in, but no output to speakers ?

try your speaker to hooked to another receiver if it works,If it works then the problem is in your receiver.Try to check the circuit board holding the socket output for crack ,loose or cold solder connection,this is the common problem, If the connection is good and still no output sound ,then the problem is in the power amp section,maybe STK IC there is defected or cold solder,try to check this out...

Hope this may help;

Good luck and dont forget to rate;

Have a peavey-xr-600b peavey mixer amp. i get aloud hum and noise and cracking when plugging speaker jacks.

Hi chillin884

Not a good sign. Something has gone wrong with the output stages of your Peavey. It is not a good idea to continue plugging it in as damage may occur to your speakers. I suggest you take it to a decent music gear repair guy for a look see and give you a quote to repair These heads, like all Peavey gear, are pretty solid and worth repair. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news like this, good luck

Hi fingers 1

There will be some overlap in bass response that you may need to tune out to tone down the boomy bits. You could tune this out with a 31 band EQ Another approach is to use a crossover or low pass filter to the subs to get some control over your bass frequencies. Another thought, if you're using the rig for stage work, how does it sound out the front. It may be standing waves created by the bass bins, moving them to different monitoring positions may also help.

Two amp

I don't know why you'd set the Peavey to 2 ohm to drive 8 ohm speakers??? My other thought is... I wonder if the phase is correct. try reversing one of the speaker wires Left or right side.
