Peavey backstage amp quit working, and there ain'tmuch to them as every part I have tested is good. This driving me crazy, like a brain on drugs. It powers up and no shorts or opens, traces are good and spk is good. Now what?

Please confirm no short circuit between your cables and no short circuit in cables itself-start testing with good cable and apply speaker one by one until you find the fault.change it with good new brand one.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I would take it to a peavey dealer that has its own tech. Most of these guys are peavey certified through a course. Finding the schematic is hard. I also think it has other circuit problems and what you found is only the result of what is bad.

Opening the speaker box, Peavey KB 60 Amp

Hi...

A couple of top screws and some on the back lip of the chassis . The amp slides out but be careful not to pop the speaker leads I own a KB50 and have worked on other KB amps.

Sounds like you need a new reverb spring set.

Peavey is very good for parts

Peavey 2600 Low input = Complete Cutout

I'm not quite sure of how the two amps are interacting here, so I'd like to request that you describe the entire hookup. Sending a higher signal from the mixer should not be a problem, but something is wrong in the setup (I think). Please update this with a description of how you have the mixer and amps connected to the speakers. Thanks, Dan
