It may be a failed switch or little broken wire.

only problem I shared with you is the chandelier... the door, upon opening, turns the chandelier on... you'll see the switch in the hinge area of the door

It's in the manual, do you still have that? If not, pull up the instruction sheet at Mattel.

check the circuit breaker it maybe switch off or you have a busted one...

Make sure the fireplace is pushed up against the wall of the house...it may snap into place. This worked for me

The fireplace most likely came loose in shipping. If you can get your fingertips behind the fireplace and pull if forward a bit.... then it is loose. The is a bar/clasp behing the fireplace the top needs to rest/attach to.... lift up and push back on the fireplace until it 'clicks'. (you will feel it when it sets in properly) One attached correctly to the wall... when you push button to make the TV go up - the fireplace also lights up and makes sounds.

the jewel is the lock mechanism for each floor. You thread the bottom as shown in the directions, then once you are done putting it together, thread the line thru the clasps on the front, which when the child is playing with, they have to move out if they are going more than one floor, then use the jewel to lock on the floor. Does this help?
