Take it out and take any other 'ring part' below it out as well until you only see the small pivot-thingy, then turn the oven on; when you don't see it spinning, motor failed completely and it's probably best just to buy a replacement (second hand or new).
If it does spin, it might be that it's burned out (i.e. not having enough torque anymore to spin the pivot including the glass plate (as the plate adds quite some weight) or jus that some of the plastics fittings are broken. In the later case you might be able to 'fix' it, either by fiddling some wires, glue or whatever. If the motor's just burnt; it's probably best to get a replacement microwave as replacing the engine is probably as expensive as buying a secondhand microwave ...
Go to "sears.com", click on "Parts Direct", another page will be displayed, enter you model number (usually found just inside door of microwave), select cabinet and you should see your glass plate listed, scroll down to required number and then you will see the part number. Copy and paste that number into search engine and look for best price or just buy from sears
Take your round glass tray and plastic three wheeled hoop to a local Sears store, open up the microwaves on display, find the one that is still using something similar, deftly trade out yours for theirs. The new wheeled plastic hoop wheels are slightly bigger and the glass tray raised guides are a bit longer, since the switch no problems like I had. Don't get caught. They do not have those parts for sale at the local Sears store.
