Your PS3 is not downloading updates because you need to deactivate the "Media Server Connection" under Network setting.

It's having problems communicating with the server from the sound of it. Try hard wiring your router to your ps3 and then see how you go. If that solves the problem then you may have to look at setting up port forwarding on your router

could be corrupted file, try to download again..copy to a pendrive correctly formated..put the update file and try to update again..good luck..try with another pendrive...

mae your playstation 3 wired then download it. once downloaded then go back to wireless.
