Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have an Acer Aspire 5100 and don't remember the Empowering Technology password. I want to reset computer to factory settings and need the password to do it. How can I reset or find the password?

Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

Hope this helps

Have an Acer 5100 Aspire. Keyboard, touchpad both not working. If I hold down Alt+Tab+F10 while powering up the laptop will keep the computer from booting up, but nothing else. I have tried USB keyboard...

Do one thing performing the recovery option by ALT+F10 and restore your system to factory default

before that you take backup with the important data

How to restore my laptop without a recovery disc? (acer aspire 5100)

Hi

You could try hitting the f10 key at the top of your keyboard as soon as you start the computer that should take you into factory restore to start with it looks likes its loading windows but in about a min it takes you into the option to take back to factory settings

If f10 dont work try alt\f10 or the blue fn\f10

if none of them work hit the delete key on startup and go into bios to make sure that f10 is not disabled because sometimes it is by default disabled

But be very carefull not to alter anything else in the bios or you could and probably have big problems just enable f10 0r f12 if they are disabled then hit save click yes

windows will then restart and try the f10 key again

good luck

How do i reset my acer aspire one to factory default is ther a download for it

You can get restore CDs from Acer if you didn't burn them when you got your computer. Alt F10 is supposed to get you to the restore partition. Power on, hit Alt F10, you may have to hit F10 several times while holding down ALT button. If you get anything but the restore menu, you don't have restore or you didn't hit F10 fast enough.
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

Acer Aspire 5100 back to factory settings

You may be able to hold F2 as you power up to open up the "setup" screen. There should be an option to restore to factory defaults on that screen.

Unable to restart laptop to factory settings by alt-f10. how do i restart to factory settings?

Are you holding down the Alt-f10 right when the Acer logo comes on? You have very little time to request this option. You must also have the original HD installed that has the restore partition.

I have a virus and need to reinstall the operating system on my acer aspire 5100

usually you can press
alt+F10 multiple times when you see the acer logo in the beginning of the boot to start recovery mode.

if its vista on the computer you can press F8 til the vista boot menu comes up, and you choose "Repair computer".
after you choose language and user, you choose the bottom choice wich should be "acer factory restore".
