The heating element is on the back side under the dust cover. You gotta remove a strap at the top of the heater chamber and then you can get the heater assembly out. Remove the filter and raise the top:

the heater element slides out after ya remove a screw at the base. Service Manual
Unplug it and remove the rear cover. Check for lint in the pipes. Take the heating element off and look for broken coils. Mounted on the heater is a cupla safetys. The small one at the top is usually open IF the element turns out to be ok. This phenom is caused by a blocked dryer vent.
