But I couldn't find what it meant in the books.. any help would be appreciated

mine says suds and then flashes f35. funny thing is it flashes suds during a rinse cycle without detergent?

  • Anonymous Aug 01, 2008

Have the exact same problem...now need a part, but N/A yet as machine is new....company says it may take a month to replace part...2 kids in the summer months...not impressed...

  • mikec329 Sep 05, 2008

Whirlpool sent the tech out twice, both times they pushed buttons until it razn through a cycle. Both times it failed immediately after the tech left. the tech was still int he driveway the last time and refused to come back in. Turn on machine, it flashes suds, then goes to F35. Whirlopool says a tech has to diagnose a problem before they send out a part, tech can't find out what F35 means, so they can't diagnose a problem. Model number is
WFW9600TA0. At whirlpool diecrection did th eunplug, wait a minute and plug it in, this worked for a few loads, buit not anymore.

I had one repairman and I thought he fixed the problem but it started again. I called another repairman (suggested by Whirlpool), waited around for him and he stood me up! Can't someone come up for the reason for F35?

  • bltoots Sep 15, 2008

I went to the store where I purchased my machine and asked for a new machine after being frustrated and not having a washer for over two months. The man who brought the new machine went to undo the hoses. He said the problem was my draining hose was into the drain too deep and it was sucking up air. That throws the control board because it doesn't know what to do. When he installed the new washer, he tied the hose so it couldn't slip back into the drain. He said it should go about 7 inches in not the 2 1/2eet it was. I hope this helps you.

We had the same problem with our WFW9600; first Sud appears, and then after while F35 appears, and the machine shuts down.

The A&E repairman told us today that the drain pump had failed because we had not been using "HE" (High efficiency) detergent, which is true, we had been using regular detergent. He ordered the new drain pump today, and said we should receive it it the next week or so.

Hope this helps! I'll post again when the new pump is installed.

FYI, google "HE detergent" and you get some pretty good information on it (the Tide website was pretty good).

Our washer (9600 Duet) was finally fixed a week ago. The repairman thought it was the pump that failed, ordered it, and it still would not work. Ordered a new switch (that others have mentioned), and now the washer works again. Luckily was under warranty still.

Anyone have any ideas what to do to avoid this problem in the future?

We had moved to OverSea with Brand New Whirlppol WFW9600 and Dryer. We had the same problem with our WFW9600; first Sud appears, and then after while F35 appears, and the machine shuts down. There are no way to get service for Whirlpool New Model. Please let me know how to fix it by my self. Which parts do I have to replace?

  • mikec329 May 11, 2010

I had the second Whirlpool repairman come out. Without looking at the machine, he called the Whirlpool tech folks and they told him it was the PSI switch. He pulled a hose off the switch, blew into it and declared the switch was bad. He then had to order the switch. The repair guy will ocme back in two weeks and make the repair. This was after I called the repair compnay A&E of course, asked them to have the tech call Whirlpool and isolate the probel. A&E did not call, becasue in his words, the repairmaan wanted to see the code for himself. Well he called them after coming to the house, without seeing the code. There needs to be a consumer bill of rights to stop the abuse the appliance companies heap onto thier customers.

I had a F35 error pop up, then Sud error started to occur. On the Clean machine cycle I would get a F 21 error.

On the top off the machine the is a pressure sensor that is at the rear right side at the top and has a black rubber hose in it and a set of wire that clips in. It clips to the washing machine wall. I replaced the censor for $144 Canadain. It works great now.

Use the correct soap.

I attemped to runn the machine over and over hoping it would just clean it self, with no luck.

I also opened the rear od the machine cleaned the hose and the canaster the attaches to the washer that leads to the pressure sensor, this also did not help.

I opened the bottom front of the washer and cleaned out the pump resevour ( use a bag to catch the water) I found a few things in there like money and various pocket stuff.

I even flushed nthe sensor out with a ink loader seringe in hope to clean out the sensor. This only made the sensor show the Sud error emediately as the water enter the machine.

Be all, end all was a new pressure sensor fixed all the errors.

To resolve some issues, call your local whirlpool dealer for service work, not too many good service techs at A&E

second im just assuming that you all baught the machine at sears, home depot or the like and not a genuine whirlpool gold ring dealer, so you all have second hand cheep machines that you payed for price for.

third whirlpool tech line wont let anyone talk to anyone unless your in the customers home next to the machine. trust me i have tryed.... its not the servicers fault or whirlpools fault it just the system to ensure the right stuff gets checked out.

f-35 is a presure switch problem, not a drain problem most comonly occuring in the wfw9600 steam duets, and it happends to be a newer model with a completely different presure switch from anything that has been used on a duet thus far.

by the way the switch costs 120.95 very easy to install

it also could be caused by a few other things,
wire harness, pinched hoses, or the over use of detergent. it is also so new of a machine that some of the parts are uneque to the machine like the new presure switch so some of it will be factory order 2 weeks to get. other stuff the more common stuff is avalable now as it shares it in common with other duets.

Flashing "sud" and then F 35... Washer was 1.5 years old. Repairman said that too much detergent was being used, and the problem had to do with suds going up a tube to a sensing pressure switch. This caused F35 code. The switch would have been 85 dollars, but Whirlpool covered the cost of the part, because it was only 1.5 years old. Repairman said to cut back on detergent, and use the EXTRA RINSE button EVERY time. Tide HE detergent was being used, but apparently we were using too much? Also said to make sure you use clean cycle often, especially when you smell odors. Total of the repair was 98 dollars labor.

Have the same problem, and whirlpool is telling me it may take a month since it is a new machine, they don't have the part readily available. Not impressed...

SOURCE: model: wfw9500tw01 f35 error

F35 is a water level error.
The water level switch (pressure switch) has malfunctioned.

If you remove the top panel, three screws in the back, you will have access to the pressure switch.

With the tub empty, remove the vinyl hose from the switch and blow backwards through the hose to clear any restrictions.

If the fault codes return after doing this, you will likely need to replace the pressure switch.

Also - please be sure to use He soap.

Wfw9500tw01 model suds and then f-35

Hi,

Just tilt the washer back and prop it up with some wood blocks. Three screws are right on the front at the very bottom. Use a 9/32 socket to remove them. The front cover slides right off. The drain trapclean out is right in the middle. Turn the large white knob counter-clockwise to remove it and clean.

Thank you !!

Whirlpool Duet -Sud displays and washer stops

I;ve had the same problem (SUD on first fill) and found this most helpful for my WFW9600TW01 Duet washer

http://www.tellingmachine.com/post/Fixing-Sud-and-F35-errors-on-my-Whirlpool-WFW9600TW01-Washer.aspx

I duplicated his actions and it cleared up my SUD/F35 error. I think running the diagnostic test multiple times flushes the sensors/sensing lines to eliminate the problem.
