Got cut off

Hi I was just talking to Maanita a little while ago and the connection got cut off before we had finished (I had paid via paypal). Is there any way the dialogue could be resumed without me paying again?

Many thanks

No, I was having a live online chat with a tech support person called Maanita. But I have now sorted out the problem, so no worries.

Who are you talking to? We are a tech support website. You must be looking for the manufacturer. Call the number back and find out if you can resume.

If you paid for the item through Paypal, you have 45 days to lodge a dispute. Otherwise you could get in touch with Consumer Affairs.

I have a 2gb ipod nanao that i own but a coupledays ago i locked it by accident and it was given to me by a friend that forgot the password to so i need an unlock for the ipod

I think you are talking about the 4 digit combination lock.

To unlock your ipod connect your it to the first computer it was synced with or the computer set as the primary one in iTunes. Open the iTunes application and let it recognise that your iPod is plugged in, then disconnect your iPod from the computer, and it should no longer be locked. Now reset the pass-code.

If this doesn't work you will have to restore your iPod to factory settings using iTunes, this will wipe all the music form the ipod but u will be able to put this back on later.

To do this open itunes and plug in your iPod then select your ipod and click restore. This process will take a few minutes and the iPod must remain connected at all times until it has finished. When done itunes will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences.

Downloading music for the first time

You CAN use Amazon, but you may have to convert the songs via iTunes before they will load. If the songs fail to convert, then you purchased the songs in protected WMA format, which just will not work with the iPod. You cna purchase songs via iTunes - those will definitely work.

There was a time when free music was plentiful - not anymore.
You can try using the free services like Limewire, Morpheus, Forstwire, etc., but I do not reccomend them:
A) They are virus-prone
B) some ISP's will cut off your internet service if you use them
C) You have to be careful that you are only downloading songs that are in mp3 or AAC format- other formats won't work on your ipod

I bought one of these from Ebay. Came from Hong Kong. Worked for two days and now won't turn on at all. This started with no warnings or faults before hand, it just stopped turning on. Tried charging...

Hello There.

Thats unfortunate but in the world of electronics it's not unusual. My suggestion would be to contact the seller and get them to replace the item or refund you.
If the seller is not helpful and you paid via paypal, then you have upto 60 days to make a claim as 'item not as dscribed' to get your money back or a replacement.

If my answer has solved your problem, please rate me on fixya.

Thank you

Do not finish the boot

well i only know so little about the mp3 player but having experiences with laptops,PS3s, psp's, etc. what your going to have to do is first make sure have everything you have on the player in to your PC then we can start with the basics

First your going to have to reimage it like wipe out the memory erase everything that is in the folders of the player except all the installed ware and everything that keeps it working your smart enough to think you'll know what to do
