Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I use my hp psc 1310 series printer with my computer, but it has quit printing computer documents. While printing a document today, I decided to cancel it and pressed the "Cancel" button on the printer. That document is listed "in queue" but it will not let me cancel it or continue it. I can't print other computer documents either. The "Copy" and "Scan" buttons will copy a hard copy. I have turned off and restarted both the printer and the computer but neither helped the problem.

Printer wont print

Just a suggestion, if you had another printer connected before this one - or the default printer is still set as default - when you click, ' Print' you'll need to select your HP 1315 as the printer you want to use to print your document.

My hp psc 1310 series model No. 1315 printer insists in placing the number 4 in the copy count of my advanced document page, and this overrides any other count number, so I always have to reset this number...

Go to printer and faxes, right click on the printer and click on Printing Preferences, check if you have any option for count in there as changing the printer properties in this was makes the changed permanent.

PSC 1310 off, unplugged from power, and USB cable from 1310 unplugged from computer.

This is HP.com/Support, and the page for Product Support, for the HP
PSC1310 Series All-In-One machines,
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=HP+PSC+1310&submit.x=8&submit.y=7

Granted, all the Drivers and Software may be the same for all of the 1310 Series, but it MAY not be.
I would like you to click on the appropriate Model Number for your All-In-One.

This page explains where to look on your All-In-One for your Model Number,
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=bpu04090&product=12019&dest_page=product

After you click on the appropriate model number, you'll be taken to a page where you'll see the heading -> Software & Driver Downloads <-
Click on this.
Now choose which Operating System you're using. (Windows XP and Windows Vista are examples of an O/S)

Under the -> Compatible software and drivers, heading, and the Driver, sub-heading, click on -> HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver.

Click on the empty circle to the left of -> Save.
After this has downloaded, close all windows, and go back to your desktop screen.
You will see a yellow folder icon on your screen, with the HP logo. Double-click on it. Follow the instructions of the 'Wizard'. Restart your computer. After Windows has fully loaded again, you should see "Found New Software".

Plug the USB cable of your PSC 1310 into your computer. Plug the 1310 into power. Press the Power On button of the 1310.

Hi Audrey-

There are many things that will effect how your printer handles paper. The most overlooked being the size of the document or image to be printed. If the image or text bleeds over the edges (left, right, top, bottom) of the document, several sheets can be ejected before the "visible" printing takes place. Often those first few pages look blank, but actually are the outer edges of your picture or text. If you are printing a large picture or large text document, this may be your situation. Try printing a document with just a few words on it (like a small email) as a test.

The second most common culprit is dusty, dirty feed rollers in the printer. Consult your HP 1310 series manual for instructions on cleaning the feed rollers, or consult this general cleaning article on HP.com. HP PSC 1310 All-in-One Printer series cleaning

The type of paper can also effect how many sheets are pulled into the rollers. Is the paper new?, Thick?, Very thin?, or is it the same ol' printer paper you've always used? Either way, remove the stack of paper from the feed tray, "fluff" it by fanning it (like flipping through a book very quickly, or the way Superman counts a stack of money!) and replace. Print a test page.

Let me know if this helps!
