Hiccups in digital 8 playback

The picture seems to freeze for a microsecond at a time as it plays back, giving a pixellated hiccup. This occurs every second or two in playback.

I've tried it with many digital 8 tapes i've recorded. TIme count appears to progress, but the short duration of the hiccup wouldn't reveal irregular time displays, I would think.

I actually haven't fixed the problem- I asked you though yesterday to provide me with an answer as to why my online session with one of your experts expired after only a few seconds.

I'm still waiting for an answer, and an opportunity to go back again and get a real session going.

Thanks. -paul

now i am giving you the solutions just try all these & reply me & please dont forget to rate me ....

i think there is some firmware problem ......
this type of problem comes due to some reasons like sudden removal of the battery when the cam is on ,sudden switch off of the cam when the battery charge is low etc ......

i think you will be having access to the menu so just try giving the restore factory settings (reset ) option once ....

after giving reset if you have the firmware problem then all your firmware problems will be solved ......

please try this & reply me ... as i think 99% this solves your problem .....

Having problem with sound playback from TDK Metal 8 tapes

I don't remember where I read it, but somewhere like this site.
Just as you start the play back, give your camera a bump with the heal of your hand. This has worked a couple times, and the issue seems to be with just the metal tapes. My husband was a bit appalled until it worked. It might not solve the issue long term, but I was wanting to recover baby footage so I wanted to just get it done.

Pixelated recordings

clean heads and tape transport with head cleaning tape, worked for me. had to run the tape 3 times at 10 second intervals with a 30 second cool down between runs. Dont clean for more than 10 seconds at a time as the cleaner tape heats up head and will fuse dirt onto head if overheated.

Picture and sound is skipping or stuttering during playback. It happens when playing any video.

This was often caused by mixing brands of tape. Do not use head cleaners more than absolutely necessary. More than half a dozen times or so, and heads are toast.

Use quality tapes of the same make/length, from new, and you will be fine. (the coatings on the tapes vary, and can/did interact with each other.)

Playing MPEG's

* The MPEG Playback function works in M. PLAY mode only. * You can play moving picture images on the Memory Card. * To hear sound during MPEG4 playback, you must hook up to a PC and listen to the PC's speaker. (You cannot hear it from the speaker on the camcorder or a TV) 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD position. 2. Set the power switch to PLAYER mode. 3. Press the MENU button and turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY. 4. Press the ENTER button to enter sub-menu. 5. Use the MENU DIAL to select MPEG4 from the sub-menu. (M. PLAY SELECT) 6. To exit the menu, push the MENU button. 7. Using the (FWD) and (REV) buttons, search for the moving picture that you want to playback. 8. Press the PLAY/STILL button. The moving pictures recorded on the MEMORY CARD begin playing back.
