Question about 2wire (1000-000005-002) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

That was it Bubba

That was the problem the 2 wire site has the drivers you just have to make sure you get the right one. I guess I'm a little smarter than I give myself credit for. This thing has better range because its older it works great I went down the street my internal card wouldn't even recognize my router I never lost it with this card , I read alot of reviews on the range thing and the chipset in this card is suppose to be the best so far I'm pleased with it. I think the older ones put out 600 mwatts instead of the current 200 mwatts who knows I'd like to get the one that runs in G mode this one shows 11mbps my other internal G card shows 52mbps but this one loads pages faster go figure, Thanks for your Help maybe this problem will help some others that ask ya seems its a common problem with this card type .

Can't get my 2 wire wireless adapter working

Your about the third person in the last two weeks I have had the joy of getting these to work. Their support site is terrible.

Do you have the drivers in a seperate folder on your hard drive? Make sure the installation wizzard is pointing to it when it installs the drivers.

Make sure you have the right model of network card too. You will have to match it by the pictures.

If it's too big of a headache I would take it back and get something more reliable. Linksys doesn't make you jump through a lot of hoops to get it to work.

have you selected the correct form of security eg wpa or wep, it should be wpa with 2 wire i think, and also the type of network, eg shared or open and ensure you have the correct upper or lower case entries.

Asound ethernet card problem

Well, seems you have covered all the bases. But as I'm sure you have guessed by now, since it works in Linux its a driver issue. Sometimes the coding is crap no matter how its installed. Asound is not one of the "better" brands. which is why people buy those brands...because the coding/drivers are written much better. Have you tried taking out all the drivers and let windows TRY to emulate?
