How to get words of dialogue off this TV

To get words of dialogue off a TV, you have a few options:
  1. Check the TV settings: Some televisions have built-in closed captioning options that allow you to display the dialogue as text on the screen. Look for the "CC" or "Caption" button on your TV remote control. Pressing this button should cycle through different captioning options, including turning it off, enabling standard captions, or enabling captions specifically for dialogue.
  2. Use the TV menu: Access your TV's menu settings by pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control. Navigate to the "Settings" or "Preferences" section and look for the "Caption" or "Subtitles" settings. You may find options to enable or disable captions, adjust caption styles, or choose captioning presets. Explore these settings to see if there's an option to display dialogue as text.
  3. External Closed Captioning Device: If your TV doesn't have built-in closed captioning features or if you prefer more advanced captioning options, you can consider using an external closed captioning device. These devices connect to your TV and provide enhanced closed captioning functionality, including the ability to customize the display of dialogue. Search online or consult with an electronics retailer for external closed captioning devices compatible with your TV.
  4. Streaming Services: If you're watching content from a streaming service, such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, they often have their own closed captioning options. Look for the closed captioning settings within the streaming service's interface. You can usually enable or disable captions, and in some cases, customize the captioning style or size.
Remember that the availability and functionality of closed captioning options may vary depending on your TV model, so consult your TV's user manual or contact the manufacturer's support if you need further assistance.

Cant turn off closed caption

sherrillbrom

With our VIP receiver models, you have an option to turn on/off closed caption through the receiver. Press the Menu button on the remote, which will display the Main Menu on the TV screen. Press 8 (Preferences) and then press 6 (Closed Caption). On the Closed Caption screen, press 1. On the Closed Caption On/Off screen, select CC Off and then press Done from the TV screen (using your DISH remote). This will turn the feature off on the receiver. Test to see if it is turned off by watching a program that has CC. If it still appears, then the feature is activated through your TV. Please refer to your TV manual to turn the feature off. I hope this helps.

How to turn closed caption off?

If the cc button on your Sharp remote control isn't turning them off then the captions may be coming from your cable box. The hidden menu to access closed captioning on the cable box is usually found by turning it off and then (yes I did say turn the cable box off) then press the menu button on the front of it immediately after turning it off. Then you navigate down to captions and disable them. When you turn the cable box back on the captions should no longer be there.

Need to know how to put the tv on close caption

Captioned programs are marked in TV listings by "CC". so press the cc button on the remote and the closed caption option will be applied.press that cc button again to turn off the closed caption option.
1) Check the size and manufactured year of your television. If it was made after 1993 and is larger than 13 inches, it has a closed captioning system built into it. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a separate closed caption system, which are available at a number of online outlets.
  1. 2)Turn on your TV and access the menu for closed captioning. The precise location of the menu varies by television set. Most are accessible by pressing the "Audio" or "Set Up" menu on your remote, then scrolling down to the "CC" or "Closed Captioning" option. Check your owner's manual for precise instructions.
  2. 3)Turn the closed captioning option to the "On" position. It will then run closed captions for every program that broadcasts them. Newer sets may allow you to adjust the size, font and colors of the closed captioning letters to fit your individual tastes.
  3. 4)Tune to a particular program for a few minutes to make sure the closed captions are working. Note that while many broadcasts run closed captioning, not all of them do. If the captions don't appear, check your TV listing to ensure the program includes them.
  4. 5)If you're watching a DVd on your TV, access the DVD's "Set Up" menu. It should have captioned options, which allow you to show captions in English and possibly other languages as well.
  5. thanks.

Cannot Stop Closed Captioning Feature

you might want to make sure it's the tv's close captioning your watching and not your cable or sattelite box's closed captioning, either way you might have to get into the menu of your box, not the tv to turn it off.

I need to activate CC for my Dad, Please help I have to go to work. I have a flat screen SOYO

Determine if closed captioning is available on the program that you've selected. In your program guide, the letters "CC" should appear at the end of the description.
Locate the closed captioning option on your remote. Some remotes have a "CC" button that you simply need to push to activate closed captioning
Locate the closed captioning option in your television's menu if there is no "CC" button on your remote. To do this, push the "menu" button on the remote control. The closed captioning option will probably be in the same section as the language function.
Set the closed captioning option to "on." Within several seconds, you should see the text appear on your screen.
To use closed captioning for DVDs, look for the "CC" label on the lower back section of the DVD case where it lists audio information. Turn on your TV's closed captioning and you should see the captioning like you do on a television program. Alternately, some DVDs include English subtitles that you can turn on in the setup/language menu of the DVD.
Thank you.

My JVC tv won't stop showing the captions when people are talking, how do i turn it off? i have tryed switching it from SAP, to MONO, to STERO and it still won't work and the only closed captions options...

SAP, MONO and STEREO have nothing to do with Closed Captioning, those are audio settings.

The closed caption options usually include: CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4 etc.

Some cable and dish providers also include Closed Captioning options. Make sure that they are turned off not only on your TV but through the cable or dish set top box.

For more information we would have to know the model number.
