Hello Just clean the laser pickup unit lens, by inserting a disc cleaning disc. this disc an be bought from most of the electronics spare part selling shops at your town. If it doesn't help you, there is no other way than replacing its Laser Pickup Unit with same type and number. OK.
Hello To clean the lens, you have to open the device and access the loading mechanism. it is really a skilled job. If you want to clean the lens only, there is a simple way. Just put in a lens cleaning disc into the device, and play it for about three times at least. Take the disc ejected each time, and put it in after. The lens cleaning disc can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town, and won't cost more. You can clean the laser head lens, by this way, without opening the device. OK.
When your PS2 starts to have problems reading silver backed discs you could be experiencing one of 2 different problems:
Your laser or disc is dirty (clean off your disc with a soft cotton cloth, and clean the laser in your PS2 with a cd drive cleaning cd)
The laser in your PS2 is going, you will need to take it into a shop to have it repaired, replace the laser or disc drive yourself (this will void the warranty if you have one) or get a new or different PS2.
Hopefully it is just a dirty laser. You can purchase a disc head cleaner (has to be made for wii) and run it in your wii to try cleaning or just blow some compressed air in it. It may also be a worn out laser. You can replace the laser, the whole drive, or send it to nintendo for $80 and shipping. There are many helpful guides on utube that can show you how to take a wii apart and replace the laser. Other than those options, make sure the discs you are trying to read are clean. You could sell it. Broken Wii's sell on ebay for about $45.
Either the laser is dirty and will need cleaning, or the laser has gone out. You can clean the laser eye with a q-tip and some alcohol. Lasers can be purchased online or ebay, but you will need to know which drive you have in order to get the correct laser.
hi your ps3 has a damaged laser head making it unable to read the discs, or the laser head is dirty and needs cleaning, take it to a repair shop or if you know how to fix this you can try it yourself, if it is under warrenty you may want to use it up.
Hi, the problem you have is an internal one, the drive laser head does not seem to be reading the discs you may need to get the console replaced, or get the laser head cleaned, it may be a dirty laser head or a damaged one. If you can replace the laser head or drive yourself then it may work out cheaper for you.
