The sound card driver must be missing.

you can get it from here

uninstal the driver detective, unless you paid for it?
also uninstall the old driver and then install the new one from the website let me know if you need more assistance with this.

No sound, when I click on the little speaker on the right hand lower coner the sound level bar is moving but no sound

Check the sound ICON at the lower right of the screen. Make certain the options are Internal Speakers and not EXTERNAL Speakers. Test by using a head phone in the external port to see if the sound is diverted properly. If you have sound OUT at the external Ports, then Reverse the option to Laptop Speakers.

Got tot the lower right of the computer screen and open the Sound Icon by right clicking with your mouse over the ICON. Check the speaker setting there and look for the slider bar to see if the sound volume was near the top and/or if the speakers show up as being active in the system. If all seems correct, you may have to go to the Samsun web site, seek support/drivers and update the current sound drivers to get reset and operational. THE OTHER method is to go to your system DEVICES and run down the list to Sound. Open that and check all lines individually for Driver Update. The computer will seek an update of drivers from there also, and automatically do the work for you.

No sound devices detected after hp update

you can try and do a system restore to before the new updates were installed, or you can go to hp's support website and look for your model laptop and download the newest drivers. i'm trying to determine if you have an hp or an asus, since you listed under asus. either way find out what sound hardware you have and download the new drivers or try system restore.

Hi, right click on the little icon in the lower right hand corner. It looks like a little speaker. in there uncheck the mute volume button. If that is good check your speakers connections on the back of your computer. It should be plugged in the green plug. Good luck.

I recently installed win 7 professional. Then sound stopped working. device manager says that everything is ok. Neither laptop speakers nor headphones work. The mixer shows sound bouncing up and down. ...

You can try running a system restore and restore the system to a point when the sound was working. Probably a software conflict has caused the problem. You can also run a hardware diagnostic that is usually included with the notebook.

No sound

Try to install or update drivers for your sound device. Go to My Computer, then right click, select Properties, click it, go to Device Manager, select speaker icon with sound, video and game controllers, then look if the drivers are installed, if not installed, try to install using your cd installer or you can update the drivers via online. If the drivers are installed, look at the screen, look at the speaker icon located the right bottommost portion, click the speaker, see to it that it is adjusted well and not in mute mode. I just hope that these infos help u. Thanks.

Not clear cant heaR SOUND

you may check your taskbar on the lower right hand side of your computer. There is a speaker icon situated and check if there is a a red icon which signifies mute. Then you may check your device manager ( Start > right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager) if the sound drivers are enabled. Then restart the pc and check if the sound drivers are working fine. Otherwise, you may try to download Realtek sound driver to optimize and have clearer sound..

No sound from my computer, the drivers just disappeared

The odds are good that the sound card in your machine is an AC97 (generic or HD audio). Your sound card is an AD1981B (search Google). The AC97 is fairly generic but this happens due to an update thing with Windows.

Download the updated driver and install, post your results here (especially if it doesn't fix your problem).
