Drill fell and broke now trying to put it back together gears and all, require help

Unfortunately on that model they do not service any of the transmission parts separately so there is no exploded view. Here is the parts diagram. You may end up having to buy a new trans assembly.

DsHow do I replace the motor in a dw958 type 3

First this has a static sensetive switch so you must do this at a static free work station!
After you open the too disconnect the motor leads (Remember which one goes where) then take the shift lever out of the transmission. It just hooks in on the sides and will pop with a small screw driver blade. then you will have access to four #10 torx head screws that hold the transmission on to the motor. Remove those while holding the motor and transmission together. Carefully seperate them making sure all the pieces stay in the transmission. It's best to hold the assembely motor in the air when seperating them. Instal the new motor on the transmission by aligning the min on the motor with the notch on top of the transmission. Put in the for torx 10 screws. Reconnect the leads, put the shift lever back on making sure it aligns with the shift ring slots on the transmission. make sure the flat spring on the shift lever stayed on. If not find it or it will not stay in gear! Put the housing back together and you're done.

Our drill got wet so i opened the case up to allow to dry. I cannot figure out how to place the cog mechanism which is currently in pieces. I need help to put the pieces back together

You should have left it together wet, mine has been in the river 9 times, still going, they are pretty tough. Putting the parts back together, you have to look for the wear spots in the grease or even the diameters of the gears to make them fit the slots they sit in, You should be able to find this info on line,

Try this one.

I have an 18 volt 1/2" drive cordless impact wrench made by DeWalt and when I pull the trigger the motor runs but not the anvil?

Sounds like you have a gear broke that runs from the motor to the shaft. Take it apart and check it out. easy to put back together. atleast you will know for sure and may fix it while it's opened up.

Tool will not function, led flickers by trigger when attemting to use.

There is something making the motor turbine stick, i just fixed mine that was doing the same thing.

Remove the four screws holding the clutch/driver assembly on the top/front.

Use a pliers to rotate the motor gear shaft in the center of the shell until it moves freely, being careful not to damage the gear. mine was sticking in one spot so i just rotated it back and forth until it worked itself loose. There is most likely metal shavings or dirt clogging it and preventing it from rotating. I would clean any debris from inside before putting it back together and grease the moving parts if needed.

Attach a charged battery and pull the trigger in foreward and reverse positions to see if the drill works ok. Mine works like a charm now. One of my batteries is shot though, not sure if it had anything to do with the stuck motor turbine.
