Question about Toshiba Satellite P105-S6104 Notebook

1 Answer

No Sound Immediately after a S/W update for the Conexant High Definition Smartaudio HD2, the sound stopped. I tried the headphone jack and no sound was there either. Review of the sound files says all are working and all are the latest update. I had this identical problem last month and snce I have a warranty contract with Best Buy, they fixed it for free. They said that they installed anew sound card. F. L. Strubel flstrubel@msn.com

the sound is LOW very low, tried two drivers and the one from their support site. The audio, you have to be right next to the right speaker to hear anything at all. Still having the issue. Driver issue?

I have Toshida Satellite P105-S6217, and I got the same issue. Before Conexant High Defuburuib Audio HD2 is installed, sound was working properly. But once it was installed thorough windows update, I lost sound. I checked devices related to sound to my best knowledge, and they all seem OK. Nothing is mute.

yes go into device manager, click on the tab relating to sound, in the next opn box double click your sound card type, eg conexant hd 2, when that box opens click drivers tab, then if highlighted you can click that and wait a few seconds, then try playing windows media player for sound. thanks, alan

Hi, this is Kogumayo again who raised the no sound issue for the P105-S6217. In the device manage, by using driver setting tab, I was able to roll back the driver so that sound has come back !! Hope this method work for those who have the same issue.

Conexant Higth Definition Smartaudio HD2 Cod. 1

This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

Your "Compaq Presario 700" notebook series does not support "High Definition Smartaudio HD2 drivers". Most probably wrong drivers installed to your notebook.

Your "Compaq Presario 700" Notebook Series audio are probably:-
1. ADI SoundMAX Audio Driver for Windows XP
or
2. ADI 188x WDM Audio Driver for Windows XP ( ie if OS is XP)

You can download the drivers @ http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=96403

Select your Model & OS to download your required Drivers.(To find the exact model, use the "Service Tag" No. to do the search).
Uninstall your previous Audio derivers before installing the downloaded Audio drivers

Hope it helps.
