Many DVD players exhibit these systems when they are overheated, make sure that it is not covered to the point that it is not getting air to cool with, IE if you have the TV or a cable box on it, it may be blacking to many of the air vents on top, or the other unit on it may be producing to much heat, which is being transferred to the DVD player, causing it to overheat.

"Wrong disc" memorex dvd player error

Sounds like a build up of dust on the lens.

2 options -

Either buy a DVD lens cleaner

Note DVD LENS cleaner, NOT DVD Cleaner the latter is for the discs, not the player

or second option is to remove lid from your player (usually 5 or 6 screws) and gently swab the lens with a cotton bud or similar soft lint free product. Try not to push too hard on the lens or you may damage the mechanism.

The lens is really obvious as it faces upwards and looks like a small round clear glass bead.

Make sure its unplugged too!

I HAVE MY DVD PLAYER FOR ONE YEAR WITH NO PROBLEMS. NOW SOME DISCS WONT LOAD, AND THOSE THAT DO LOAD ONLY PLAY FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN STOP.

You may need to clean the DVD player's lens because it hardly reads the discs that is why you are experiencing that problem. If you have a disc cleaner, try playing it; having it spin for like 30 seconds will clean the lens. If this does not work, then you may have to manually clean the lens by opening the DVD's casing and unscrewing the plastic cover that protects the lens inside. Get a q tip or a cotton bud and damp it in an alcohol. Gently wipe the surface of your lens and let it dry for a few seconds. The return everything back and play those DVDs again.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Dvd stops playing and freezes less than 6 months old

Try to use lens cleaner. If lens cleaner doesnt solve the problem. Check your warranty. Or inquire to the store where you bought it.

Won't play any DVDs

I mostly first always recommend a dvd lens cleaner to clean the lens incase there is something on the lens.

Is the player underwarranty? the lens may have a issue other than dirt and might need to be replaced.

What happened last time it worked fine? try unpluging the dvd player for 5 minutes and try again.
