If you have a different map on your satnav and you want to keep it you'll need to install the new one to your computer first and then from your computer to a memory card. Details on how to do this are at the same link.

If you don't have a map of Spain on your satnav and you want to buy one. Go to www.garmin.com.
Log in to your myGarmin account.
Click on the myMaps tab.
There you'll see the maps installed on your satnav.
You also get the option to buy new maps.
Click on buy new maps and select one of spain or western europe. Follow the prompts.

As long as you have the European maps then yes it will still be able to talk to the satellites. Obviously if you have the North American maps then your unit will not help you out very much.

Have you changed maps ?
Do you have EU maps on it. ?
In menu check what maps are loaded ?

Cannot find Spain on my sat nav!! It includes europe but when I go to change country to spain it wont let me and its also not included in the list of countries.
Check out garmin website for help, its pretty good and has free downloads such as icons, themes so you can personalise your satnav. If spain is not listed try connecting the device to a pc and check and see if irt is listed in the map directory.
