Universal remote does not work!!!

Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the majority of universal remotes are generic models made from a standard set of codes, so in many cases the codes wont work when they are meant to, be it because its meant for a different software version or it simply wont send a recognizable signal to your units IR sensor. The best bet is to either source a replacement reccomended by the company that makes the product or to sell it and buy a new one with a working remote. Sorry.

I cannot set up Netflix. Player says it was successfully connected to my wi-fi, but I don't know what to do next.

There are several possibilities why the NS-BRDVD unit isn't connecting to the Netflix server.

Your internet connection speed is a possibility. 1.5Mb is too slow. 4.5Mb is preferred and even faster is better.

Do you have a firewall that is up? If so you may need to instruct your firewall this device is allowed to connect.

Your distance from the WiFi router is too far for a stable connection.

Have you tried using the wired connection to make sure your player is working correctly? That your network is allowing you access?

I would start with a wired connection direct to the internet. If that works, start introducing new components until the connection fails. When you find the failure point you will know what item needs to be changed. How to change that depends on how you setup your network.

Hope this helps!

Will not play movie - continually displays "Copyrighted Movie HDMI HDCP frail with TV "

There are several reasons for this but exactly knowing which is one isn't possible without first knowing what products you are using such as your connector, player and television.
HDCP is the acronym for high definition content protection. It is a digital signature embedded into the disc software designed to prevent copying of the disc. On certain occasions due to the hardware such as the HDMI port on the television, or the connection type, the signal will not be allowed to pass through. The HDMI port on the television may not be HDCP compliant for example. In this case if possible you can try a different HDMI input on the TV if available or use the component video input instead.

Sony DVD recorder RDH-HXD760

I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I think this product/model is a lemon. The stated issue of a faulty optical lens could be true in that I have had untold failures during playback (skipping chapters) especially of rental dvd even after disk cleaning etc. I guess I will need to have my set fixed (only if I can get warranty) or buy another product (possibly not Sony this time). Sometimes I wonder if these conditions are planned to occur in support of the economy. Phill W.

Code manager connection

CD is in drive: Plug in the DS and turn it on (going to the update screen on the DS), this -might- prompt you about a new software that has been plugged in and ask you to install the drivers for the "NDSLink" With the CD in the drive, it will find the drivers for the NDSLink

Wire Wiped Clean: It isn't the wire that needs cleaning but it's the pins, if the Pins need cleaning use an alcohol solution (Damp, not soaking). Otherwise pinch the wire and run your fingers across it to straighten the wires within the cord without pulling (pull too hard and you'll rip the wires) Though do note that exposed wires are not a good thing. If you received your cord with exposed wires, return the Action Replay and its accessories promptly and get a new one.

DS is Open: Again, your DS needs to be on in order for the computer to recognize that it's plugged in. It's the Action Replay that the Code Manager on the computer talks to, not the DS. The Action Replay needs an electrical current going through it to tell the computer that it's turned on. DS on = Action Replay on.

Other possibilities that are not explained: Did you happen to drop the Action Replay? Damage from falls is completely possible and ruins the state of the Action Replay, causing it to come lose easily or not work properly. I have needed to replace my Action Replay due to these accidents before.

Where was this Action Replay bought? If you bought it from a exchange store, you might have gotten a DS that was damaged before you got it (It happens), so if it is not too late, return it, and get a new one (Depending on the price difference between new and used in your area, for me it was a $5 difference)

Colour gone

Did you possibly switch where your wires are hooked up? I just tried hooking my player up to a new tv and I had a black and white picture at one point. Make sure your video wires hook to the proper colored ports.
