I've just had the same problem with my Samsung SW50USP and had a technician out to have a look at it. Apparently the electronics are fried and it would cost much more than it's worth to fix. Time for a new machine unfortunately.

Would just replacing the main circuit board fix this problem? I have same problem, replaced cold water fill valve but now valve is always open when power supplied to machine. Thanks

How you doin'? please help me how to stop my washing machine to indicate soak model WA13FS2 Samsung?

I'm doing well, thank you! I'll be happy to assist you with stopping the soak mode indication on your Samsung washing machine model WA13FS2. Here are the steps you can follow:
  1. Press the "Power" button on your washing machine to turn it off and unplug it from the power source for safety.
  2. Wait for a few minutes to ensure that the washing machine completely powers down.
  3. Plug the washing machine back into the power source.
  4. Locate the "Soak" button on the control panel of your washing machine. It is usually labeled or represented by an icon.
  5. Press and hold the "Soak" button for a few seconds until the indicator light for soak mode turns off. This action should deactivate the soak mode.
  6. Release the "Soak" button.
  7. You can now select the desired wash cycle and settings for your laundry load.
If these steps do not work or if you are experiencing any other issues with your Samsung washing machine, it is recommended to consult the user manual specific to your model or contact Samsung's customer support for further assistance.

My fisher and paykel top loading q washing machine won't start. It beeps and lights 5 and 8 come on. Any ideas what the issue might be?

That is fault code 9 machine not sized
9. (00001000) Size Switch Error
The Display size switch setting does not match that which is stored in memory.
Action GW Machines: Reselect the size of the machine by using the SIZE SETTING
MODE.
To set the size switch, turn the power on at the power point and off at
the console. Press and hold Wash Temperature Setting Up then
press Power. SmartDrive will give 4 short beeps and the pattern of
LEDs will change.
One of the following buttons needs to be pushed to lock the size into
memory.
• Press Wash Temperature Setting Up, the Cold LED is on for 5.5kg
(560mm wide).
• Press Water Level Up, the Low Water LED is on for 6.5kg / 7.0kg
(600mm wide).

• Press Spin Speed Up, the Spin Hold LED is on for 7.5 / 8.0kg
(650mm wide).
• Press Power to confirm the setting and also exit this mode.
Action IW Machines: To access Size Setting Mode, push and hold the Fabric Care button
and then press the Power button to enter Size Setting mode. Select
the correct size on the display by pushing the Adjust button to
highlight the correct size. Size setting is then achieved by pressing
the Power button. Powering off will set the size into the memory.
Note: Fault code 9 will only be logged into the memory of IW machines. GW and MW
machines can display this fault but it will not be recorded.

How do I use the Child Lock option on Samsung WF-B1456GW?

Hi there,

You can use the child lock feature in 2 ways.

1. To prevent operation of the washing machine when no wash cycle is running

To set this feature, switch the machine on using the POWER button at the top-left of the control-panel. Next, press and hold both the SPIN and RINSE buttons for about 3 seconds - until the child lock light indicator on the control panel illuminates. All functions of the washing machine will now be disabled apart from POWER ON/OFF until such time as the child lock is deactivated.

To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons again until the child lock light indicator on the control panel goes out.

2. To prevent any tiny fingers from tampering with the machine while a program is running.

After pressing the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons until the child lock light indicator illuminates. All buttons on the control panel will now be disabled until the child lock has been disabled. When the wash cycle has finished, you will need to switch the child lock off again to reactivate the buttons. Once you have finished using the washer, reactivate the child lock again before switching the power off as above.

The feature can also be used when using the delayed start feature, but needs to be set after pressing the START/PAUSE button.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

I have just changed the brown control board and now i have a fault code 9

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

You did not provide a make and model number so here is my best model to problem guess....

Your new control board is missing the size information.

AQUASMART-SIZE-SETTING. Size information must be programmed when a Motor Control Module or Display Module has been replaced. If the size is not set, the display will show fault code 9, or the water levels and wash actions will be incorrect. If the machine displays fault code 9, the machine must be switched off at the wall and then back on again before it can be sized.

Setting the size:

Unplug at the wall and then re-plug it in.

Press and hold Temp Up, then press Power. Wait for the 4 beeps, then set your machine size as follows to YOUR machine size:

5/5.5kg machines - press Temp Up. Cold led should light.
6/6.5kg machines - press Water Up. Low water led should light.
7/7.5kg machines - press Spin Speed up. Spin hold led should light.

Power off, try a programme.
Thanks for using FixYa!

From the Tech Sheet:

IWL12 and GWL 11 are different models. One of the two procedures will work for your machine.

The machine size must be set into the machine
memory if a Motor Controller or Display Module has
been changed.

To set the size:
1. Turn the power on at the power point and off
at the console.

2. IWL12 - Press and hold the FABRIC CARE
button, then press the POWER button. This
will present a set of options in the LCD
screen. The LCD screen has within it a
number of options. Push the Adjust button to
highlight the 650mm (L) machine size.
Pushing the POWER button will lock the size
into the module’s memory.

GWL11 – Press and hold the WASH TEMP
UP button then press the POWER button.
Press the SPIN SPEED UP button (the HOLD
LED should be on.)
3. Press the POWER button to return to normal
operation.

LG Washing Machine All-in-One

Some magic happened today!

I got the thing (wd-12331ad) to dry without having to run a wash first!

Also, I seemed to get it to do a spin only run...

The way to get it to dry :
-----------------------------------
(for a set time - I've not managed to get any of the auto-dry settings to work)
from machine being off:
> press the power button.
> press the "Dry" button 'til "Time" lights up
>>> press "Dry" again to get the desired duration
> press the spin button 'til the spin speed shows blank/ the RPM light goes out.
> press "Start/Pause"

It will then dry for the number of minutes specified!

Not perfect, I know but that's serious progress from where I was before; having to re-run a wash cycle to get it to dry anything...

Something to note:
- The machine worryingly sounds like it's starting to fill with water when you start the "Just Dry" program which scared me at first. BUT it stops after a second or so (I think it's just cleaning out the detergent tray so it doesn't bake any leftover powder)

For "spin only" from machine being off:
-------------------------------------------------------
> press the power button.
> press the spin button
>>> if you press "Start/Pause" now you get a 13 minute 1200 spin cycle
>>> press the spin button again and then "Start/Pause", it seems to drain itself for 1 minute
>>> pressing spin repeatedly, cycles through the spin speeds.

Things I don't know:
----------------------------
- I don't know if you can combine spin and heat.
- I don't know whether the auto-dry programs are available
- I don't know what other programs are available from the "Dry"/"Spin" buttons

...So if anyone does any experimenting, please let us know the results, you never know, we might end up with a half way useful set of instructions! I'm starting to think the machine's not half as bad as it seems when following the manual alone.

Hope that helps.
Will
