I have a Canon Power Shot SD1300 IS my pc is windows XP and when i try to get pics off camera i cant. i have down loaded the software.

Before you can download any pictures from your camera, you have to install the software that was on the CD that came with your camera. Canon also allows you to download the latest versions from there web side, when you go there.
While installing the Canon Zoombrowser, the correct drivers are installed too.

You can always use a card reader to download to a folder you create on the desktop. From there, you can move the pics to iPhoto.

does the laptop recognized you canon power shot? if not try installing the software of the canon power shot to your laptop, these camera comes with installation when you purchased it, try to install it, sometimes win xp does not recognized such devices

If you can in as ADMIN, delete the old profile but DO NOT tellit to remove their files.

Neither Windows XP nor Vista requires a driver for this camera as they both use the built-in PTP drivers to communicate with the camera. Therefore the disc is not a requirement to download your pics if either of these is your computer's OS.

If your computer isn't picking up the camera it's likely due to either incorrrectly configured computer services or interfering software or hardware on your PC. Such things as multifunction printers, scanners, web cams, and other installed camera software are number one culprits. If your PC has any of these devices, unhook them temporarily from your PC and stop their software programs from running by right-clicking on their programs' icons in the bottom right hand corner of your computer and clicking exit or stop. Then retry your camera connection.

Also always remember to put the camera into PLAYBACK mode before attempting a detection and download.

P.S. You can order another CD from Canon at a nominal fee
and you can download the latest software updates from
their site at www.powershot.com. Just click on the
Download Library link on the home page, enter your
camera in the drop down menus, and download any
update versions of the software from the default down-
load page. Just remember these are not full versions -

i have a vista system on my computer disk for power shot s-30 is not compatiable with vista. how can i down load pics?

as far as i think VISTA is not compailant with the CANON software. since vista s a latest version CANON will have to release a new version of its software for VISTA.
so this must be requested with CANON.

Go to Canon web site and download to your computer the relevant drivers for your PC and the Win Xp OS. It should solve your problem. Good luck!
