If it is USB CD_Drive you can plug it in a USB port of the computer. You may have to install drivers, but usually Windows Update can download them from the Internet.

I'm buying an emachine em350, it apparently doesn't hav a cd/dvd drive, how can I fix this...how much wud it cost if I cud find an external cd drive? Where's a good place to get one n how much wud it cost?...

External is the only way to go on this unit. Check www.officedepot.com or www.ebay.com . Should be less than $50. You could try ebay but the shipping will probably be $10...Just plug into one of the USB ports and you are good to go.

Cd rom is not working when i put a dic in it won;t do anything

Check that you have electrical power to the drive, i.e., push the button to open/close the tray.

Check that the "data" cable from the motherboard to the back of the drive is tightly-connected at both ends.

Or, spend $40, and buy a brand-new, CD/DVD, reader/writer, in order to replace the "dead" device.
