contant clicking noise - similiar model as gds20sbsss - is this the compressor failing? is this a defect on all GE fridges?

I have the clicking noise too! What's the solution?

It is a constant clicking noise coming from the motherboard on the back of the fridge. Started out as a minor clicking here and there, but then became constant.

It the clicking sound is constant it's a bad mother board. Located on back of fridge under a cover panel. IMPORTANT TO READ INSTRUCTIONS YOU MAY HAVE TO CUT A WIRE ON THE WIRING HARNESS. This is dictated by SERIAL NUMBER OF REFRIGERATOR

Had this problem... constant clicking from the motherboard panel in back of the refrigerator; compressor never came on. Replaced the motherboard and all is well; took about 15 min. The original part number was WR55X10416; replace it with the newer WR55X10942. You can get it from several sellers, for example:http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_d...

O have a GE Fridge Model GFSS6KKxass i am having a issue with water accumilatimg under the both crisper drawers not sure what is causing this?

My GE Fridge did the same and the repair man I called said there is a little drain hose that goes from the top to the bottom of the Fridge at the rear see if that hose is plugged. I unfastened it at the top and blew air through it and the water is no longer a problem.

Ge refrigerator noise

Hi. I cant solve your problem but I will tell you what I did. If its the same problem I I had ( there was like a light rattle that seemed to come from the back of the freezer side. It wasnt constant but sort of like a little rattle here and a little rattle there every few seconds. Not very loud but very anoying. It sort of sounded like a cardboard tag floping in the wind and hitting something.) I thought it was the fan but that was not the problem. I had to call GE a few times. When the service guy came the fridge was silent and the guy said nothing was wrong. An hour after he left it started again but this time I made a video recording and placed the microphone at the rear of the fridge. GE admited something was wrong. The service guy said he could not fix it so they gave me a new fridge. This one is ok but the water wont dispence.

Before going much further I would check all the fans, the Condenser and be sure it is clean. The freezer and freezer fans need to be checked as well. This if it is the trouble is much more cost efficient then replacing the parts and then doing this.
Good Luck,

Yeah, same problem. There are two capacitors that seem to be prone to going out. You can replace the main board, or (if you can solder) replace the two capacitors with slightly larger ones (radio shack mdl number 272-1030 works) just remember to bend them away from the heat sink if you go that route.

The fridge is making a constant clicking noice

Had the same problem on my GE bottom freezer fridge. It finnaly died a few days ago. The clicking came from a relay on the main circuit board under a access cover on the back of the fridge. Ordered a new circuit card from GE ($157.50 + ship/handeling), replaced it, and the fridge works great. I have an electronics background but if you take your time and are safe, I think anybody would be able to change it.

sputering and gurgling is a common complaint with lots of models. it is the surculation of the refrigerant thew the evapurator tubing behind the rear wall. make shure the units condensor underneathe the fridge is clean and clear of dust. it can cause the head preasure from the compressor to increase witch can cause excesive sound in circulation. hope this helps you
