Toshiba laptop power on light bling after not on

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Plugged in cord, and computer went black

Remove the main battery and power up, if no change! have the power supply tested, if okay! sub out the ram memory one at a time and test, if no! the DC jack in the laptop do cause issues, at this level I recommend a tecnnician to get to the bottom of this.

I have a Toshiba PSAF3U-0NR00V, every time i plug the charger to the laptop it goes off, but comes on without the charger, it would charge the laptop, when it's turned off but if i try turning it on...

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

If you are knowledgeable, remove the heatsink and apply new thermal paste.

But, it certainly could be the mobo.

Hope this helps.

When plugged in the laptop stops. but with back up power, it is working

If you mean it doesn't work on battery, change the battery. (Cheapest is on ebay). If you mean it won't work on the Adapter alone, change the Adapter. (Cheapest on ebay).
Or please clarify.

You may have completely drained your battery which it will need a full recharge before it will work again.
